Finally saw "Changing Lanes"
Fuck, that was an awesome movie. I particularly loved the bit where his wife tells him "I could have married an honest man."

She creeped me the hell out when she said that. I was waiting for her to go all soppy and then she said that, and--I don't know. Maybe I was picking up the wrong vibe from her earlier or something (I was watching it at a party, so I missed some of it due to laughing/talking with people), but that caught me off guard.

It caught him off guard too. I thought it was great how losing the folder was the catalyst for him to discover that his whole life was built on a web of ruthless self-interest.Zaia wrote:She creeped me the hell out when she said that. Yes, I remember his face when she says the "I could have married an honest man" line; I know he wasn't expecting that. I have to see it again, both to catch the things I missed, but also so I can see that part again. I want to see if there are any hints beforehand that she's going to say that, or if it does totally come out of nowhere.Darth Wong wrote:It caught him off guard too. I wonder if that character would get to thinking about his life, and the staggering odds it took for him to lose that file on that day and all the subsequent events that led to him coming to the realizations he reached--I wonder if he'd get all spiritual and become a born-again because he went through a bit of self-discovery? *chuckles* Hmm? I wonder...

It was an alright movie. Decent popcorn flick for sure. What I liked was the look on Sam Jackson's character's face when he was about to return the folder and got that message from Aflec's character.

My favorite scene was when he interviews the second prospective employee- who has been dutifully sitting there the entire time, ready to give his ass-kissing 'i love the law' speech (did I mention that the girl's babble made me sick to my stomach?)
I don't wanna have to do that when I leave uni ....

Some day, you will. Hopefully your ass kissing will get you to the top quicker and make you the ass kiss reciever instead.Vympel wrote:My favorite scene was when he interviews the second prospective employee- who has been dutifully sitting there the entire time, ready to give his ass-kissing 'i love the law' speech (did I mention that the girl's babble made me sick to my stomach?)

And yes, the girl did make me wanna puke. I hate lawyers or solicitors or whatever you want to call them.
