I'd say sports cars, as they're more efficent, and it seems that so many people who drive SUV's are just single guys that live in the city that only brought one to make up for their tiny penis. I'd understand if someone who lived in a rural area or had to haul around a lot of stuff got an SUV, but I don't know why someone who doesn't have to do that stuff would buy a sports car. They're more stylish and flashy in my opinion anyway.

Most people who buy an SUV want something big and intimidating to bully other drivers, they`re sending the message "get out of my way or die" so its another toy for idiots who suffer from road rage.

My vote went to SUVs for the lesser of evils. Sports cars are death traps, they use gas that burns faster and hotter, they zoom down the street at cutting speeds, and they crumble like a tin can. SUVs are built to be safer, however, if you live in california and have been dealing with the 2.05$ gas prices, then you might want a sports car. :D

Yeah. There's no such thing as an H1. Unless Xtreme was referring to the pre-H2 models, in which case yeah. Hummers kick ass.

Excuse me, but the Honda Civic DX and EX are both listed as sports cars as of the year 2002.

Besides that, if you pimp it out, it's either an off-roader or a sports car. And since I can't see a riceboy driving his civic or accord with their .25" ground clearance over so much as a speedbump, that kind of leaves one other option, doesn't it?

What has more kinetic energy? A typical sports car travelling at full speed or a typical SUV travelling at the speed limit?

They sure as hell shouldn't be. They aren't sports car nor were they meant to be sports cars. They're coupes for those that want a reliable car to get from point A to point B, but don't want to spend too much money.

Even if you say that all sports cars use higher octane gas (which is false) and that no SUVs use it (also false), you're still left with the fact that gasoline is gasoline and if it starts burning you have major problems either way.

Of couse, your typical SUV probably carries twice as much.

Driven responsibly, sports cars are not at all hazardous. There is no way for a SUV to not be a road hazard.

Instead of making all of the *other* cars crumple like tin cans.

Bullshit. Rollovers tend to be about the most deadly type of accident, and SUVs get into far more than any other type of car. SUVs also use their categorization as "light trucks" to evade many federal standards of automaking.

No, the diminished risk of other types of accidents balances out the rollover risk. SUVs overall come out rather well (see crashtest.com for ratings).

That said, as someone who is seriously inconvenienced by trying to make left turns while seeing around SUVs on a daily basis, I would vote the sports car as the lesser evil.

Yeehaw! Long live the "light truck", and everything it stands for!

BTW, Today we almost got into an accident thanks to some
fucknut in a ricer burning past us and making sharp lane changes....

Sports cars are things of beauty. SUVs are pickup trucks with tumors. On sheer aesthetics alone, the sports cars wins.

From what I see at the dealership and in the ads, the first Hummer is now called H1 while the second Hummer is the H2.

H2 are the pussified version of the real deal and they take up more space than the H1. That and you can get 2 H2s for the price of one H1.

That's the problem. Most sports cars are not driven resposibly (I've seen a few, but they're few and far between).

It is possible for an SUV to not be a road hazard, just like it's possible for a construction truck to not be a road hazard. However, that also requires a considerate driver.

I'm going to say that based on my experience driving a Suburban around Los Angeles, it's idiots in rice rockets and sports cars who seem to love to tangle with SUVs. I've had rice rockets dodge in front of me, while I'm staying at around or a little above the speed limit, and slam on their brakes because of another driver. I've nearly rear-ended several people who did that.

The problem isn't the vehicle. The problem is the drivers.

wow. i didn't know you measured tings in kms there!

it really depends on whether people bought the car on wank value. Guarrenteed if there is a civic 10cm of the ground, 4" tip and booming doof playing, they bought it because of the rice factor. A plain, (aethsetically)un-modded (real) SC may reflect the drivers motives.

SUV's and rollovers; I should point out that this was not on my mind when considering accidents. I was thinking more along the lines of collisions from other automobiles on the street; head on and such.

There's a serious misunderstanding.

On the highway I usually drive with 200+ - speed limit is just recommended here - but the real excitement in sport cars are the feeling when you can drive on a serpentine, taking high velocity turns and for that you can use your sport car almost anytime....

I hate people who has a sport car and only pushes the pedal to the metal when he's on a staright road. Most of the sport car owners are that kind.

I don't like SUVs. They are big, bulky "gasoline-cemeteries". Takes too much space when parking, blocks the view.

I totally agree, but that doesn't change the fact that Honda lists them as the "The #1 selling sports car in its class" or some such nonesense.

To be fair, the DX and EX are actually both DUALLY listed as Econ. and Sport. And as for "The best sports car in its class," well... Its class is comprised of the Pinto and the Fiat. FORD Fiat, not Fiat the brand.

It does. Every car manufacturer in the world has to throw out some kind of bragging rights. The fact is that in some shitstain magazline like "Modern Racer" or "Street," someone took the time to divide cars into muscle, rice and mod, and then rated the Civic #1 in rice, so Honda played it up.

...or something like that.
