Favorite movie from a Video Game?

Post by Knife »

Just what it said in the thread title, which one is the best? The above three are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head, I am sure there are others, and if so and the movie made from it is the best, make sure to post it.

My pick to come later.......
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Bah, forgot that only three options will show up. Wing Commander was option number 4.

Resident Evil was okay, i dont think it was as good as it could of been. I think Part 2 is gonna be so much better >_> but thats just me :D

... with the choices there, that would probably have to be the best one there >/ ... by default.

Resident Evil was pretty cool but I liked the first MK movie best. Sure the fight scenes blew (as did Toro) but the set-up and the sets were very cool.

Those above?

My favourites are the intro from Imperium Galactica 2 with the huge space battle and the intro of Battlefield 1942.

Edit: The movies from X-wing Alliance were great also!

Resident Evil for me. Have you heard the Director's Commentary on the DVD? Fucking classic stuff! Michelle Rodriguez talking about Half-Life and Milla Jovovich(sp?) gleefully pointing out "twat shot!" when her sacred nether regions are in full view.

So very bad in the funny way. Though how many movies show the evil guards locker room? Resident Evil is my favorite though.

I've seen only Tomb Raider, so I'll have to go with that one, but I also saw Wing Commander, which wasn't in your poll, so that one gets my vote.

Meh, it's hard. I'm voting for Resident Evil, and Milla is quite lovely. But Tomb Raider has Angelina Jolie, who is a vision of beauty. Although on second though, Milla looks really good too....*snaps back to reality* Wait, sorry, we're not going by looks....yep Resident Evil. :D

Also, one of the things I really liked about RE is how, at least for me (haven't played the games) nothing made any sense at first. But as the movie progressed, things were all tied in, and then it's like "Ahh, I get it now."

Mortal Kombat, because it was generally well acted and cool. Also kickass dance/metal soundtrack, with zero signal by fear factory in the Johnny Cage/Scorpion fight.

Actually, I rather liked Street Fighter. That movie was so bad it was kinda good, in a twisted sort of way. But I tend to be kinda forgiving towards any movie that has gatling guns in it so...

Mortal Kombat all the way. About the sequel-that piss-poor excuse for a movie would be much, much worse than Highlander II if there were such a thing as Highlander II.
'Next time I let Superman take charge, just hit me. Real hard.'
'You're a princess from a society of immortal warriors. I'm a rich kid with issues. Lots of issues.'
'No. No dating for the Batman. It might cut into your brooding time.'
'Tactically we have multiple objectives. So we need to split into teams.'-'Dibs on the Amazon!'
'Hey, we both have a Martian's phone number on our speed dial. I think I deserve the benefit of the doubt.'
'You know, for a guy with like 50 different kinds of vision, you sure are blind.'

While Resident evil had the feel and look of the game the plot was sadly lacking. Milla looked superd as ever but it occured to be when i was watching it i noticed Michelle Rodriguez was cross eyed. Also the CGI for the Licker/Ripper thing was fucking awful.

Mortal Kombat had the exact feel and plot, generally, of the movie and it had better fight sequences. and the CGI, though in use more, wasn't as painful. Also the twist at the end wasn't expected unlike the RE twist.

Out of the choices given, definitely Mortal Kombat. It was a very fun movie. I can still sit down, watch it and laugh at Johnny Cage.
