PunkBuster probably wouldn't run on the Matrix. They'd need something like MatrixPURE :D

I always throught that, in the first movie, when Neo says "Guns, losts of guns," they should have shown a closeup of the operator typing in the IDKFA code. Would've made a good in-joke.

Probably by scanning the brain of a human as they eat it, and then by making a program to stimulate the appropriate areas of the brain when simulated chicken is eaten.

Any meat that has no real distinct taste always resets to the default that be chicken. Infact, ANY food that doesn't have any unique taste whatsoever resets to chicken, it's true here so either we're in the Matrix, our brains are fucked or God ran out of taste sensations.

Actually i think he meant how did they know what chicken tastes like in the first place to be able to make a program that simulates its taste.

The only thing I can think of is when it went the Matrix went online, there were still chickens running around. Or Tasty Wheat.

or they subjected humans to different proteins and carbohydrates and the like saw the impact on the brain and then had the program simulate the effects of the different proteins and carbohydrates on the brain when you thought you were eating./

If I were a machine I'd think "ah bollocks to this, I'm going to the nearest Tandy and getting me a lifelong supply of Duracell."

Hotfoot wrote:I still think that the collection of waste heat and such from the humans trapped inside of the Matrix should be considered a method of helping to "break even" on the energy costs of keeping them alive. Rather like the moisture suits of Dune, they don't retain 100% of your body moisture (and certainly don't manage 101%), they do allow you to keep going much longer than you would out there alone.

The only problem with this is what would the machines then be using the humans for which the average moviegoer would see as being "really evil"? I mean, reducing humanity to a giant car battery is really evil, most people would agree, especially since dead people are fed back to the living. What could take the place of that? Without a reason to keep their mortal enemies around and in the Matrix, it just becomes a cheap copy of the plotline from Terminator, where Skynet (01) wins, wipes out humanity, and proceeds to just rule the Earth. You know, 'cause that's the thing to do.

What would the machines of the Matrix do at this point anyway? They're obviously emotional on some level, their AI is essentially AS for all intents and purposes. Do they want to explore? Spread throughout the universe? Why haven't they gone into space? These things beg for answers...

Yeah, yeah, I'm overthinking an action movie, so sue me. :P I had a similar story I was writing before the movie even came out, with some serious differences (primarily that the machines in this case were benevolent, and saw themselves as the caretakers of humanity until the planet's ecosystem could be restored to the point where it was safe to live on the surface again).
Hehe. I don't consider burying dead bodies anymore noble than this. :) I call it efficiency.

I think it was a handy compromise, for when we take the world back from them. On the other hand, we could've been wiped out in a more 'noble' fashion. I know which one I prefer.

How do we know the machines got it right? The humans have no way of knowing if the machines got the taste of chicken wrong. That's the only "chicken" they know. For all you know, their idea of "chicken" tastes like our idea of beef, and vice versa.

Maybe part of the eluding plot in the next film will answer this for us, no doubt mixed with a heavy dosage of eastern philosphy and technomusic funky fighting.

Maybe the "humans as energy" thing was a lie, cooked up by the humans and programmed into the minds of the machines as a safety valve. Since humanity knew they were going to lose the war, they did it so some could survive.

But then you'd wonder why Morpheus believes it (maybe he simply recites it as dogma, not daring to question it). Or maybe he just pretends he does, because he has some other ulterior motive...

Nah, probably just sloppy writing. It SOUNDS cool at first. They still have 'a form of fusion' of course...
