Best movie soundtrack, ever
My personal favorites are the TTT and Gladiator soundtracks.
The End of Suburbia

"The Wire" is the best show in the history of television. Watch it today.

Too many to pick. There are a lot where I would wear out one or two tracks because I love them to death, but I'll listen to just about the rest of it anyway.
But, so far as overall greatness, in that EVERY track is a winner, here're my picks, in no particular order:

Did you watch the documentary on the Pioneer DVD with the Geinoh Yamshiro Gumi? The part where they revealed that one of the instrumentshas to be 100 years old before it can be played properly was cool as hell.Spanky The Dolphin wrote:This is the fifth time we've done this, you know...
Anyway:
Akira.

Odds are, it's fairly simple and I should be able to recognize, but I don't right now. A little help on which movie this is?Montcalm wrote:AF1:score

Parts of Attack of the Clones soundtrack also are good
2001 a Space Oddysey, because of the actual composers (and some I think Lucciano Berio piece, as well as the Strauss') such high culture for a movie
Apollo 13... though I like the movie itself heaps by itself
Lord of the Rings, Fellowship and 2 towers (Both have alot of the same material)
Prince of Egypt (the actual soundtrack, none of this stupid pop singer stuff)
Saving Private Ryan
sure there's others, just can't think of any....

"Flash Gordon." Come on, what's not to like about a soundtrack featuring a wedding march played by Queen??
As for serious film scores, my favourites are:
The Good, The Bad And The Ugly
Sleepy Hollow
Conan The Barbarian
Ivan The Terrible
all the Star Wars soundtracks
Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers
Highlander (the Michael Kamen part of it)
2001: A Space Odyssey
