Hehe, my college decided to redesign the entire computer science course for next year. The new classes are designed to make CS students who are able to enter the work force with knowledge and experience. This is basically the opposite of I what I just graduated with - and education that was way too heavy with theory (I had to teach myself most of the practical stuff).

Since it also talks about Earth, it isn't all theoretical.

Ugh... we left the sixth form, and the damn place gets 'science college' status and some ridiculous sum of money to spend on new science labs, at the same time, a new sports hall was completed after we left, students get allowed to go to said sports hall bar after we left, it gets a host of science based new courses, after we left... I mean, we were the first year to get sats at 7 yrs old, the guinea pigs for the AS system, the one who had to put up with the obnoxious Charva's in the year below, and we didnt even get the benefits...

INTRODUCTION TO ASTROBIOLOGY

(GEOLC 472)

SUGGESTED READING

There are no required books for this course, and the lectures are self-contained and based on a wide range of source material.
That can be both good and bad. It depends on the instructor. I had one history professor that went from his notes exclusively. Since he'd put them together over years it was much better than someone who was teaching from the book. Hopefully this class is the same because the idea behind it could make it very interesting.

Unfortunately our higher grades are awarded on the amount of first hand reading around the subject we do. The best kind of recommended reading is theerfore whent he lecturer points us towards specific journal arcticles, as opposed to any textbook ourhis own notes.
It's always good to cite names in an exam.

And Alyrium, there is no higher UGrad degree than an MSci. Don't you think I'd be doing it if there was? (bloody having to look for jobs)
