Favorite drummers

Post by thecreech »

I didn't want to hijack the heavest songs thread so post here. Who is your favorite drummer or drummers. What songs really standout? No poll per to many people get upset if favorite (enter person here) isn't listed

Here are some of mine in no particular order

Raymond Herrerea (Fear Factory)
Mitch Mitchell (Jimmy Hendrix)
Matt Cameron (soundgarden/pearl jam)

You mean, other than myself? :D

Carter Beauford, Mike Portnoy, Lars Ulrich, Liberty DeVitto...for starters.

Edit: Left out the second 'T' in 'DeVitto,' if you actually care.

For some reason I always enjoyed the drumming Ginger Baker did for Cream.
By the pricking of my thumb,
Something wicked this way comes.

Pissing Razors? Sounds painful. Fun name though...

EDIT: My band director intentionally calls the percussionists "dummers". I don't know if that was just a funny typo on the part of the topic-starter, or intentional, but it reminded me of that...

Nick Mason of Pink Floyd, merely because of the song A Saucerful of Secrets.
Drummers don't stand out for me a whole lot, excepting the ones I know personally, of course!

Matt Chamberlain. Played drums for Chantal Kreviazuk and Tori Amos among others. Stole the spotlight from Tori for a while in a live concert which ain't an easy thing to do.

Dave Lombardo (Slayer).

Caroline Corr (The Corrs). Because she's a cutie and I want to do naughty things to her.

Yah, yah, he's amazing. I think the same thing about Dave Grohl, but part of that I want to have a thousand of his babies, so..yeah. :D

Uhmmmm, double plus ouch? :D

And what about Gene Crupa(sp?). Didn't he pretty much lay the foundation for most modern drumwork? Or at least popularise it?

How do you know if the drummer's stool is on a level setting?

The drummer drools out of both sides of his mouth
