Every EU subject has an empty movie slot. That's how the graphical format of the Databank works.Towlie wrote:Heh, Darktroopers have an empty "The Movies" slot. If only...
I believe in a sign of Zeta.

"And besides, who cares if a monster destroys Australia?"
"For example, the Empire has been known to employ neutron bombing, which kills or incapacitates a large percentage of the local population, but keeps the infrastructure intact. Radtroopers deploy into neutron bombed areas, sweeping up pockets of resistance that may have survived, as well as securing the location for when the radiation subsides in a few days. Resistance is often minimal, since the intense radiation is effective, but there are hardy lifeforms in the galaxy immune to such extremes, and they are usually tough opponents requiring seasoned troops."
"Modern weaponry becomes less reliable in radiation fields of Grade 4 or higher, so radtroopers are typically equipped with vibroblades, force pikes and grenades. Their blaster carbines are more powerful than standard stormtrooper sidearms. All radtroopers receive melee combat and explosives training."

Spacetroopers: "These elite soldiers wear large powered suits of armor that give them the firepower of a light tank."
Assuming this isn't hyperbole, a light tank can be said to carry equivalent firepower to a microtorpedo launcher and heavy(?) blaster cannon.
"Some Coruscant Guards also carry the Merr-Sonn R-88 Suppressor riot rifle that combined the precise targeting of a blaster rifle with the area of effect of a stun grenade. "
So is this a lethal or nonlethal weapon?
"The specific detachment dispatched to Tatooine was the Desert Sands unit, led by senior officer DSS-0956. These elite soldiers had training that emphasized independent thinking. All Desert Sands stormtroopers carried heavy blaster rifles, long-range comlinks, and food and water packs."
Does this imply that this detachment was native [garrisoned] to Tatooine or dispatched from the Devastator?

Yeah, but its inconsistent. E.g. check out the blacktroopers canon slotSpanky The Dolphin wrote:Every EU subject has an empty movie slot. That's how the graphical format of the Databank works.Towlie wrote:Heh, Darktroopers have an empty "The Movies" slot. If only...

which doesn't work
and compare it to the Darktrooper slot
http://www.starwars.com/databank/droid/ ... index.html
which does work but is empty.
Also, on another note, good stuff on gravity well projectors.

Not suprising. The Trade Federation AAT is a light tank, and it was easily destroyed by a Naboo police speeder's blaster cannon in a side attack in TPM.Towlie wrote:Assuming this isn't hyperbole, a light tank can be said to carry equivalent firepower to a microtorpedo launcher and heavy(?) blaster cannon.
Towlie wrote:So is this a lethal or nonlethal weapon?
Yup.
It was dispatched. I think its likely that the Devestator was part of Tatooine's local Sector Group, and likely had a desert unit on hand due to the heavy crime activity on that relative middle-of-nowhere shithole, and Vader just happened to pick that one up in his chase of the Tantive IV.Towlie wrote:Does this imply that this detachment was native [garrisoned] to Tatooine or dispatched from the Devastator?

You realize you just totally didn't answer his questionIlluminatus Primus wrote:Towlie wrote:So is this a lethal or nonlethal weapon?

Devestator was not attached to the Tatooine fleet. It was Vader's personel ISD.It was dispatched. Non-lethal. Though stun affects are not perfect and can cause heart problems, as mentioned in the Thrawn Trilogy.
Thanks for the source on the Devestator.
