How could Voyager be decanonized?
Ok, if we could do this, how would we decanonize that drivel? I mean, besides the obvious wake-up-and-it-was-only-a-dream scenario. How could we do this?
Anyone have any ideas?

WHAT???
Now... sure, many think that Voyager is far from being a great series...
BUT DECANNONISE???
Tell me you are kidding...
Sure, much of it is pure shite... but there is some stuff in there that is worth keeping...
The idea of the Borg Unicomplex... the new Tactical Cubes... and that's just in the Borg stuff...
Now... if you could find a way to erase from Trek history the worst episodes from any of the series... you'd have me listening!

Well, I would make a Voyager movie called "The Courtmartial of Captain Janeway," and it will be established in this movie that the series was actually a recreation of the actual events that is presented to the court in the form of testimony from the ships crew. Sort of like that early ep of TNG where Riker was accused of murder and they used the holodeck to recreate the events.
This would keep the series as canon while explaining the poor continuty and outlandish aspects of the series as gross exagerations of the crew.

I agree with Luthor. why would you want to.
If you ask me you lot on this forumare way too botherd about whats cannon and whats not anyway.
Sure Voyager wasnt the best series but in truth its no worse than TNG and certianly has more story archs. leave it be

If at first you dont succeed.... destroy all evidence you ever tried
Species 8472 cool. Hirogen cool. Tactical cubes cool. Unicomplex cool.
Equinox episodes cool.
Character development, most of the time crappy due to writers, but every once in awhile they "screwed up" and made a good character episode.
Assessment: Keepable.
RTN out.

You can say Voyager was actually a computer simulated situation in Starfleet training on what not to do as a captain. Continuity can be retained by saying that everything else is real (Hirogen, 8472, etc...), but it's the crew that's the epitome of bad behavior.

It's a lost cause. We can't canonize or de-canonize anything. It's up to Paramount. And they make their position pretty clear: all Star Trek shows, including ENT apparently, are "canon."
Pain, or damage, don't end the world, or despair, or fuckin' beatin's. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, ya got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man ... and give some back.

BTW, I found nothing about the Voyager Borg to be cool. Thet were weakened due to shitty writing.

Perhaps Bitch&Bastard will be too terrified to actually attempt their worse nightmare and relinquish control of trek???Solauren wrote: off course, then you'd have people beging for a remake of the series with the continuality cleared up.

Enterprise "Regeneration" establishes that the series is in fact a contaminated alternate timeline (begun with the temporal incursion of the E-E into earth's past in the movie "First Contact").
In season 4 of voyager (sorry I forget which episode, was it Raven?), Seven-of-Nine confirms that the events of "First Contact" happened, implying that Voyager is also a contaminated timeline.
So there you have it. It's not "history" as we know it!
(Sorry I meant to say Enterprise E, not D, typo fixed)

The contaminated timelines solution seems to me the most acceptable, because it allows you to keep things like the Hirogen and the Voth without messing up "true" Trek continunity. Considering all the time travel episodes, we're now well away from the timeline that existed at the beginning of TNG.
