Will you stay away from Canadian Beef (mad cow)?

The scare of mad cow disease in Canadian beef has many countries running for cover to ban all Canadian beef exports. Curiously, the E.U. is still allowing the trade of Canadian beef. I for one think that there is a little too much hysteria surrounding this event. After all, there was only one case of the disease.

I think the hysteria is overblown considering how many burgers get eaten in a day. But it is prudent to look into blocking shipments from the infected area. No need to let something get out of control.

Well, although it doesnt really effect the UK, even at the height of the BSE thing in the UK, our family never stopped eating beef, we just bought the higher quality stuff, BSE is only a problem if you eat the lower quality stuff that hasnt been dealt with properly or has been contaminated with the offal.

You bring me a plate of Canadian beef, I'll probably eat it.

BSE was a very over hyoed thing. In my opinion just an excuse for the frnech to Brit bash. I wonder what the reaction will be towards Canada given how they aren't as hated a country.

Are we really eating BEEF??? The movie Soylent Green comes to mind. ROFL!

With beef going here and there all over the world, who really knows what country's beef we are eathing. McDonalds uses beef from Brazil, Russia used beef from the US and UK and so on and so forth.

I don't eat all that much meat, but when I do - I love a big juicy rare filet wrapped in bacon. YUMMMMMMM....

This won't affect my eating habits in the least.

That's incorrect. The fear of a slow, painful brain terminal disease is irrational. Just like SARS, people will take illogical decisions no matter how many times you explain to them the odds.

My mother stopped buying cow steaks, and she certainly holds no grudges against the british, and the cows were portuguese.

I will be taking no steps to avoid Canadian beef. Most of the beef I eat is very well done anyway, though I prefer it rare.

You`re no supposed to eat it right off the animals,and the US has one of these three diseases,maybe two but they won`t say it.
