The discussion as to what membership in the alliance entails will begin shortly. It is likely that each partner will be sending a force of ships to create a Joint Navy to provide for mutual defence.

Since the acronym for the Ordino Accords would be : "OA" a title already held by the Outworlds Alliance, we would move to have the Alliance named the "Ionian Cost Accord," or the ICA, in memory of the people slain by the Kokand WMDs during the Four Hour War which set the stage for this union of powers.

We once again ask you to explain why they are legal combatants. They are not rebels, because they have no-one to rebel against. Explain, please, what you think they are.

Guerillas, and that do have lot to fight against. Their nation was swallowed up thanks to your war. I'd say they have reason to rebel and strike out on a guerilla war.

Again, who are they rebelling against? They are not fighting against those who have conquered their territory.
They are not a liberation front.
They are not defending themselves from foreign exploitation- they are simply wantonly murdering civilian spacers in neutral territory.

Their actions are at best terrorism, at worst, simple piracy.

I might point out that you were the nation that "swallowed them up." You of all people has the most interest in seeing them caught and brought down if they are rebels.

BTW, could I get a second to my motion for an ITA inquiry as to where these ships are getting their supplies?

The way I am seeing things in morality is this.

We: The Pirates should be hunted down, and then brought to trial in all the offending parties courts for the crimes they have commited.

You: The rebels rebelling against the loss of their nation should be tried in our courts for munity and desertion of duty.

Who is more right there?

You're point being? I am aware that some of the Kokand resent us for that. And I am actively attempting to intercept and capture or destroy the renegades. The problem is I can spare damn few capital ships and I have to keep those concentrated

They left the yards a little over a month ago. They're designed for operations lasting far longer than that. None the less we have been investigating. We're afraid that it has been nothing more than a series of dead ends and stone walling interviewees.

So what you do is this: You send out a few cap ships after them in hopes you get lucky, and let us go after them too. Then when someone catches them besides you you let them try them for their own crimes, on condition you get the ships back, while you publically demand their return. That helps solidify your friendship with the Kokkand people, and keeps another war from happening at no cost to you.

But you alone can only get a small part of the sector, the ITA as a whole can get almost everywhere.

The Act of Annexations finally cleared the Senate today and the Emperor is expected to give his blessing to it with in the next few days. This landmark bill provides for the basic integration of the Kokand into the Asgard Empire. Senatorial elections, peerages, and currency are all covered in this sweeping bill.

Senate elections for the seats of the Kokand in the House Common will be held in a little over two months. Already a a number of clear cut winners have emerged from the pack. Most are members of the conservative parties and are threatening to tip the tenous balance in the Lower House of the Senate. Among the keynotes of the policies embraced by the conservatives are hardline diplomacy, increased military spending, and an an isolationist policy.

Though they have not been formally announced peerages and titles are likewise slanted towards the conservative side. Several appointments come from the former Kokand government. Most have less clear cut policies but many are expected to push a similar conservatice agenda. What the long term results will be are unclear. However it is clear that the Kokand will have strong voice in the new government.

Several Anti-Floater demonstrations turned ugly today. What began as a peaceful demonstration quickly turned into a near riot. The crowd turned into a mob when the crowd began storming the Floater's diplomatic compound.

Armed guards attempted to disperse the crowd but it quickly got worse. The crowd turned upon the diplomatic seciruty forces and forced them to withdraw. They then proceeded to burn down the compound and blocked attempts to extinguish the blaze.

Local police were unable to make any arrests as they were driven out by the mob. It was only after the local militia was called out that the crowd was dispersed. Investigations are being made but authorities have little hope of catching the instegators.

We would threaten you why?

Our point is NOT to be threatening, it is to try to broker a reasonable peace between the nations of the sector with each side getting what they want.

Threats of war are not that way to do it. We have made our terms clear; you may accecpt them or not. But we will consider the murder of our citizens, criminal or not, a grave matter.

Again what would I get out of it? The floaters would not help me, the NRE and Pan-Slavs definetly wouldn't help me, and the NBA would hardly be benign, where does that leave me?

Again the threat was unintentional, we merely proposed a solution not realising you would be so virulent against it, and I am sorry for any insult given unintentionally.

This message is obsolete. It was transmitted shortly after the Kokand missile salvo devestated our coastline but was glitched due to hardware failure.

The long-awaited Basinet class galley has now been approved for service. Notable improvements over its predecessor include improved flank protection, more cargo space, more weapon mounts, interdictors, a much bigger power plant, and even limited Warp cpabilities. The new class fills what the navy calls a "medium light" role, which is expected to perform better against a wider range of opponents. Critics of the design worry about the cost of the new features, citing the small initial order of forty ships. The Imperial Minister of the Navy was quick to explain that the fleet was being kept small on purpose, but that Imperial shipyards are quite capable of producing more should the need arise.
