I know a few vegans. They're mostly OK, and know how to modify their diet to make up for what they would otherwise not be getting (and agree with breastfeeding). They aren't as fanatical as some... other... people I've met.

Such as this one woman who's a vegan, and is constantly badmouthing anything that's not labeled "organic" because it's somehow inherently evil. (If it doesn't come from a health food store, it's bad. ) Needless to say, she's got a lot of health problems due to malnutrition. The worst part? She thinks that prayer is a cure for everything, and refuses to see any doctors no matter how sick she is. I'm certainly not going to regret it if she dies.

Not all do. I know one girl that's a vegan and she actually looks damn good. The thing is she's one of the rare vegans that actually took the time to learn how to have a healthy vegan diet. Most of the fad and/or moron vegans don't do that.

It's possible to have a healthy diet even being vegan but you have to take some care about it.

See, they weren't feeding their kid a vegan diet, because they were feeding their kid cod liver oil. That, by default, is not a vegan diet. I remember after this story broke, I think PeTA even had some sort of conference with all the media there, with a pile of food on the table, that was vegan baby food. It was vegan shit in Gerber size jars. I think the vegan baby food brand was "Earth's Finest" or something like that. There was also vegan baby yogurt, etc. The guy denounced the family's actions. He essentially scolded them. He was right, this was not a vegan diet, this was starvation.

So, don't hate them because they were vegans, hate them because they were morons.
