Mt. Dew: Livewire

Post by Tsyroc »

Has anyone else tried this variant of Mt. Dew yet?

It's supposedly going to only be available this summer. I like it a lot more than that Code Red crap but it really tastes like regular Mt. Dew mixed with Sunny Delight or maybe with TANG. ;-)

I also think they might be still playing with the formula because it has tasted a bit different most of the times I've tried it. It's like certain citrus flavors got more concentrated in various parts of some batches.

Anyway, I thought this stuff was pretty good. Seems a bit sweeter than regular Mt. Dew if you can believe that. I still like the original best :)

It tastes a lot like a old coke product called Rondo.. Almost like a sweeter fresca..

Speaking of soda, Britian evidentally has yet to experience the joy of Vanilla Coke.

I pity them.

I like Livewire quite a great deal. I'm gonna be stocking up on it at the end of the summer to savor for some time to come...

Uh, we have had it ages and to be honest, it's crap.

Pity America has yet to experience Tizer and any of the Tangos. :P

I don't really care for it much. It tastes like Orange soda, you can barely taste the mountain dew, unlike in code red. Also I hate the whole "Add shit to old colas instead of making something new" phase the soda companies are going through, Tropical Sprite Remix, Vanilla Coke, Red Fusion, Livewire, Pepsi Blue, GAAHHHHH! Almost all of it is shit. Whats next? Mixing Coke and Dr. Pepper? Doubling the syrup per bottle? Just enhancing the normal flavoring, making Dr. Pepper taste more like plums, or making Mountain Dew taste more like piss?

Eh? I thought Dr. Pepper was cherry-flavored.
Don't hate; appreciate!

There is a cherry-flavored variant of Dr. Peper called Red Fusion.

As to Andrew J's comments about mixing stuff in old brands it has gotten a bit out of control and nasty tasting in some instances. I didn't mind the vanilla coke since that had been around ice cream parlors for a very long time in the past but just hadn't ever been marketed directly by the Coke company.

I guess I've never been much for cherry flavored drinks. Some of them are okay but that's about it for me.

I think Code Red from a fountain is okay but in the bottles I feel like I'm drinking liquid plastic but I guess the same can be said for Diet Dew until you get used to it. :)

Yeah....Livewire isn't too bad.....the flavor reminds me of orange Lifesavers candy.

I still gotta go with good ol' orange Crush if I want orange soda....which is rarely. :?

I like it, it tastes WAY better than Code-Red (which tastes like crap, but is a good caffeine source, which is the only reason I put up with the flavor).

Kinda reminds me of orange Slice with a crapload of caffeine in it.
