Worst Fanfic?
Moderator: Edi
Nothing is so bad as Artemis's Lover (as Datana has noted). Avoid it at all costs.
There actually are good Sailor Moon fanfics, but it takes quite a bit of digging to find the good stuff. A few gems in a huge, stinking sea of mediocrity - and this is why I stopped going to the main archive (ASMR) long ago.
Fanfiction.net is a sea of crap, more or less. I haven't had a fic on there entertain me, well, ever.

I would have to say that Artemis's lover and the Marrissa Picard fanfics are the worst ever. They are so horrible, there are no words to describe them. Speaking of bad fanfics, I suggest you guys loom at this website: http://svamcentral.org/svam/misting.html . It has a ton of bad fanfics that have been mistied.

This is obviously intentionally bad, but it's not far off from the stuff out there.
They call this...thing...a fanfic?
Yes, and Portal was extraordinarily bad. I haven't read SD'sR yet, but I intend to, just to counterbalance Portal.

Along the lines of the posted MST of "Teh Best Worst Beeebop Fnafiction EVAR," a MST of "Ramna's Bigest Adventure," a fanfic parodying Oscar's "style," can be found here. The original fic was by The Eternal Lost Lurker, though you won't find it anywhere near his site. These sorts of fics probably shouldn't count, as the authors were trying to take it as low as possible. On the other hand, Artemis' Lover was worse than both of these combined.
I've avoided fanfiction.net for quite some time now, and have been seriously considering unsubscribing from the FFML (which I've been subscribed to since 1996), as almost nothing interesting ever comes through it anymore. Most of the better anime fanfiction writers have since moved on to "real" fiction (like Ammadeau and Rob Barba), have stopped writing altogether (like Zen and Ichinohei Hitomi (though I have no sympathy for the last)), or have simply disappeared off the collective radar.

Indeed, we need not revisit events best left sealed in depths of a horrifying past.

Marvelous. After reading this thread, my intention to never read fanfiction has been refuelled and re-armed. I shall continue not to.

I've read very few fanfiction, but the worst would have to be one my freind told me about(note, said friend had a GIG of hentai PICTURES on his harddrive), basicly it was bout Sakura from Cardcaptors breaking her hymen with her fingers. Absolut trash.
EDIT: Forgot to add I just glanced through it, not a solid reading.

I actually read on uncut Marissa Picard/Sailor Moon crossover fanfic on a lark one day - 'twas so bad it fried my mind for a good half hour. Only a sneak peek at Marina's fanfic preserved my mind.
I've considered unsubscribing to the Anime FFML as well - I rarely see anything new there. There's a few fics I monitor, but those authors sometimes forget to post that chapter ...Datana wrote:I've avoided fanfiction.net for quite some time now, and have been seriously considering unsubscribing from the FFML (which I've been subscribed to since 1996), as almost nothing interesting ever comes through it anymore. After doing a search, and barely scratching the surface i have decided to look no further and wipe all memory of the name RayCav from my mind.

And then there is a Wes Hutchings fanfic which I freely admit to not reading.

The majority of these fanfic writers should be in the dock alongside Milosevic, as their fanfictions constitute crimes against humanity.

Ahhhh, Star Destroyers Rampant, and Portal. Two very good examples showing why fanfic authors writing VS. stories such as these need to carefully balance the advantages and disadvantages of the two sides. If we wrote a story using the canon ICS numbers versus a ST with the calcs we can supply, we'd have a curbstomping wankfest that might actually be worse than SDR. And, needless to say, both stories are a good examples of why the aspiring fanfic author should pay attention to his or her characterizations as well..Tribun wrote:But "Star Destroyers Rampart" is also a but pile of shit.
