Wasn't the opportunity to direct ROTJ originally offered to David Lynch, but turned down by him?

Probably. The plot made too much sense.

Who did the original ROTJ? He was good. (The Ewoks were George's fault)

I don't have a problem with GL's directing. But he either needs to find a competent writer for EpIII or take a class or something.

Funny though. My choice for director would be Peter Jackson.

Steven Spielberg. He can make rerally good war stories and can turn a peice of crap (AI) into a blockbuster.

AI sucked balls.

Didn't Francis Ford Coppola once attempt to make a sci-fi movie - resulting in the somewhat mediocre Supernova??

Quentin Tarantino, any one? John Travolta? Just kidding...

If I wanted to do it seriously I wouldn't be going for any big names. Try to bring in some people who appreciate the source material and who show alot of talent for directing. Definitely would go for young up and comers.....

Actually, George Lucas got the ideas for the plot from Kurosawa. (I think all he did was to take "The Hidden Fortress" and make a sci-fi version of it)

I know. I'm wondering what Kurosawa would have done with a sci-fi version of a movie he had already done.
