Yes, but we are forgetting one important thing, this is Kelly we are talking about, I'm sure her look could KILL a man.

While some parents feel they have privileged status when they take their kids out in public, all this really comes down to one's sense of decency and politeness.

Sometimes I feel like I grew up on another planet. I do strange things like turn OFF my cell phone when I'm in the movies, or in meetings. I WAIT until someone is off the phone before striking up a conversation with them. I also rerfuse to buffalo my way into a conversation. I open doors for everyone, be they male or female...

I am bombarded daily with what USED to be considered rude behavior.

You seem like one of the rare ones. Being polite and considerate does not seem to be something that is taught anymore.

Wheeeee!!! *Runs away with the quotes to use as new sig*

On topic, I doubt that any of the people who bring kids who can't behave, or won't turn switch their mobile phones off or silent to theatres and such would like it very much if their experience was ruined in the same manner.

I never seen anyone here bringing a baby to a theatre/movie.

Even if she/he would try it, the theatre would buy back the ticket instead of letting the baby in.

On the case of cell-phones...

There's a warning every time, before the start of the movie that ask you to turn out your mobile phone.

If somebody doesn't do it and it starts to ring...he/she has to face the verbal wrath of the whole audience....

That can be a devastating effect.

I bring a pistol to my theatre. Or I would, if I lived in the US.

Ever since the local theatres started doing pre-show announcements, ie "Turn off your cellphones and pagers...", I haven't had any problems.

What I used to think was stupid/funny were the people who answered their phone and said "I'm in the theatre I can't talk" .... OK, so your stupid enough to leave the cell phone on yet smart enough to realise not to talk, why even answer it?

One theater where I live has a special sound proof room (with its own speakers) at the back for people with babies. Another one features special matinees where you don't get admittance without a baby. (I think the theatre also doubles as a very special sub-level of hell).

As for cellphones, I once saw a fistfight break out over a guy taking a call during the movie. The fight itself was pretty funny, as it was two guys who really didn't want to be hit, jabbing at each other at full arms length.

And, isn't X2 PG-13? What kind of parent would bring a toddler to see a PG-13 movie?

Slightly off-topic, I fucking hate the people who sit in the row in front of me wearing a huge fucking hat (apperantly in Texas you're allowed to wear a hat indoors  ), or have hair which makes Marge(sp) Simpsons' sisters look like chemo-patients. Also only in theaters, I hate tall people in front, especially in the old non-stadium seating theaters.

With DVDs the way they are now, there is absolutely no reason for any parent to track their bratty kids who they should know by now will act up, just to see a movie. Wait till it comes out on DVD and you can watch it at home and let your kids act like brats the whole time without bothering anybody.

And bringing in a baby to a movie theater is just dumb. It's not like they're going to get anything out of it.

*sigh* See folks, this is exactly what happens to kids when they aren't made to mind from an early age. Half the kids I see running wild around a store wouldn't do that very long if I got to spend 5 minutes with them in a locked room and a belt in my hand... That pisses me off when parents let their kids run wild around stores, breaking stuff and just walking away.

I hear you on that. I recently copped a mouthful from who I'm assuming was a feminazi for holding the door open for her. Apparently I was perpuating gender stereotypes.

Met a couple of them too. People like that really piss me off. The last bitch that went off on me for holding a door open for her got a mouthfull in return. (Basically gave her the whole "What's so damn wrong about someone doing something nice for someone else for a change? What, just because I hold a door open for you, I'm a chovonist pig?" speech. She just rolled her eyes and walked away while everyone listening started clapping.

When I went to see Halloween Ressurection last summer there was a lady with several children who looked to be about 6 or 7.

Yeah, but we're also talking about the same people that would take a 5 year old to see Jarassic Park, yet piss and moan if a nipple is shown.

Raises hand.

That was me! My parents took me to those movies when I was five. Except the difference is I've been watching PG-13 and R rated movies since I was born (at home, though). They're some of my family's favorite movies. My parents say that I never cried when I was little, but they knew better to bring my ANYWHERE if I was in a cranky mood. I think I was desensitived to violence and loud noises when I was young so it didn't really matter.

Personally, I think Hell (if there is one) is full of crying children. I also dislike cellphones. I think they are fine FOR EMERGENCY USE ONLY! Casual conversations on a cellphone are just plain annoying.[/b]
