That little pile of shit works against itself.

The basic lesson, if I'm not mistaken (and it's happened before) is that anti-voucherists want to squander money on school systems that are hectic and chaotic, and not wisely spend it on students who are more concerned with learning.

Obviously, the schools that are hectic and chaotic are the schools that need reforms. That seems like simple economics to me.

Second, I went to a Catholic school, and let me tell you this: We got MORE than our fair share by charging a $5k/year tuition and ducking under certain state taxes because we didn't rely on the state's money. Let's see.... $5k/year/student x 1,100 students = $5,500,000 a year. Next year the tuition is going up past $6K (thank God I got out when I did) and the expected student body size will be 1400. That's $8.4 million. Per year. It would be one thing if kids didn't have to pay for things like food or sports uniforms... but they do. Food is outrageously priced ($5 for a sandwich) and every athlete is expected to pay up to $60 each year to cover uniform expenses.

And the sad thing is, it's like this all over the state.

I say that tax money SHOULD go to those rowdy schools. They need it far more than Parochial / religious schools do.
