I posted one of those threads last week, because I thought it was expected. When I registered, the board instructed other users to give me the smackdown. I figured I'd get the hazing over with. Have to say, I was underwhelmed by the many pokes. Oh well. Now I'm mostly lurking in Trek Vs. Star Wars, but will start to post soon, once I've got a better understanding of this place.

Yup. Back in those days we didn't even have titles.

To clarify: I have nothing against new members. And although it's not something I would do, I don't even have a problem with new members announcing their arrival here, since the mods are good at keeping spam to a minimum. I just get really irritated when people come here with a specific agenda (to anatagonize the board, flood the board, etc.) and we had a rash of that recently.

So if you're lurking, register! And if you have something to add, jump on in and start posting! Just be sure to read the announcements forum, the faq, and the main site first

Newbies should just be happy that we didn't adopt Stravo's buttpluging idea. Pokings and smackdowns are NOTHING compared to good, thorough buttpluging!
