But they didn't have the right to, since they only registered a few hours before you, making them new to the boards too, right?Cpt_Frank wrote:Poking is pretty dumb and it can get really annoying with the time.Lonestar wrote:I haven't been poked either. I feel so clean...
Though being member #4, I've never had a problem with it.
The only ones who could have poked me would be Wong and Robert Treder.

I posted one of those threads last week, because I thought it was expected. When I registered, the board instructed other users to give me the smackdown. I figured I'd get the hazing over with. Have to say, I was underwhelmed by the many pokes. Oh well. Now I'm mostly lurking in Trek Vs. Star Wars, but will start to post soon, once I've got a better understanding of this place.

Alyrium knows his stuff. Hemlock not so much. Basically just learn from the people around here and you'll do fine.

"The Wire" is the best show in the history of television. Watch it today.

To clarify: I have nothing against new members. And although it's not something I would do, I don't even have a problem with new members announcing their arrival here, since the mods are good at keeping spam to a minimum. I just get really irritated when people come here with a specific agenda (to anatagonize the board, flood the board, etc.) and we had a rash of that recently.
So if you're lurking, register! And if you have something to add, jump on in and start posting! Just be sure to read the announcements forum, the faq, and the main site first
