It seems that the two primary senses humans use to function are sight and hearing (and balance, if you want to include that). Taste, touch and smell are more secondary.

No, you be right. Our sense of taste and smell are pretty much nothing compared to most other organisms who can differentiate from hundreds of thousands of chemicals from only a few molecules in the air and our taste is no different. Then you have other senses that we don't have like SONAR in bats or electromagnetics in sharks.

Touch is primary. If you loose touch you can't even control anything. You can't even stroke a pet since you can't controll the strength of your touch.

Err, well there are people alive with dumbed down or lost nerve connections. If you mean as in general nerves, then yes, it would be devastating and not just sexually (there'd be no point as you couldn't feel anything anyway for a stimulus to initiate orgasm).

There are other nervous problems I would rather not have, to do with the autonomic system like Ondine's curse where people have to remember to breath.

Its not called SONAR when its used in the atmopshere, its SODAR as I recall.

Hmm, guess it would be given the nature of bats, meh, was using SONAR to keep simplicity. Some still refer to it as RADAR as an analogy since planes use that and not SODAR for obvious reasons. Though SONAR can still apply given it is a sonic system used for navigation (low frequency) and also interception of prey (higher frequency).
