Great news everybody!

I've been fired! Woooo!

A couple of IT contracts fell through so the cafe part of the business can't afford to keep on the staff, so I am officially un-employed as of one fortnight from today! Huzzah and all that.

So not only am I graduating from uni, but getting released from work too. This is such a fucking wonderful day that I could just beat the shit out a baby seal.

"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."

Incorrect. You have been made redundant as your job no longer exists. To be fired you would have had to have been a bad bad boy. Well, given that you are an Aussie, you probably were, you just were not caught

You see, there is not much stigma attached to being made redundant..cause it was defeinatly not your fault, but that of the company that employed you. Being fired allways means you were a naughty boy and that affects your job prospects.

Who the fuck cares.

And I'm not an IT professional, I'm merely someone who has experience in IT and hospitality and has been working under a consulting firm in one branch of the business. It just really shits me because this means I don't even have enough money to pay my rent anymore (and my rent is only 63.75 a week).

I believe he explained it already. But the short story seems to be no money available to keep him employed.

Welfare isn't a problem, being a uni graduate "actively seeking employment" I'll be getting a fair bit, but the problem is that seeing as I'm no longer in casual employment I acutally will have to be "actively seeking employment" rather than just e-mailing my resume to two random companies a week.

Oh, dont say such things here..the American right will pounce on that and use it as proof of the American free market system as being the best deal since Adam shagged Eve. That could really undermine the Vast Leftist Conspiracy/Commune :D
