PETA is pathetic

Post by THEHOOLIGANJEDI »

What the Hell is up with that Fucking group. Is it me or is PETA a group of fascists who use the worst measures to get their point across. They can do whatever they want,(I respect their stance) but do they have to force their values at us. Everytime I hear about them on the newsof watch them on "Politically Incorrect" I can barely restrain myself from hitting the TV. Their argument point are laughable, and the fact that they have to exploit their attractive female members to get attention is pathetic to the extreme. Now I am a hetero male (not that it matters) but if they think they can accomplish anything with their desparate tactics then they have blinders to the world.

The real PETA is annoying. I'm all for treating animals ethically and if that was all they were really about I'd be pretty cool with them but most of the PETA people come off as militant veggans.

The one thing I always remember about PETA is an interview I saw years ago. PETA's president at the time was interviewed on some news article. He seemed okay for most of it but what finally put him over the top in my opinion had to do with a roach. Instead of killing a roach he found in his house he scooted it out his front door. I could probably go with that if he lived in a house but he was in an appartment. So all he did was get the roach out of his appartment and into the common hallway of his appartment building. :?:

PETA are a bunch of loons. WHO would release animals raised DOMESTICALLY into the wild? Humans are carnivores. We wouldn't have cainines if we weren't. Herbivores have even teeth. These people really need to get a life. My guess is they can't find a job, so they go and bug other people for kicks.

Humans are omnivors.

Yeah, those PETA folks are some major-ass crazies. I think since they're current president (some nutso British bitch) took over they're been following the guideline that any publicity is good publicity (hence they're recent campaigns). Their beliefs are so far out there that they alienate everyone.

I can't wait until some scientist proves that plants can feel pain. Then, I'll simply have to look to PETA members for examples of Darwin's Law at work.

I was attempting to spell carniverous and was failing completely, so I just wrote carnivores. But, yeah, omnivores. As in we eat everything. At least I know some men who will eat whatever you put in front of them. ;)

You think the PETA are bad??

At least the PETA limit their promotion of vegetarianism to nonviolent means.

Have any of you heard of the ALF, the Animal Liberation Front??

They blow up random steakhouses, destroy trucks used by the meat industry, and assassinate scientists with the purpose of making statemenst towards medical experiments on animals.

Their less violent exploits include various acts of desecration upon fur shops and setting minks abducted from mink farms out in the wild.

The funny thing about the ALF is that they tamper in nature's domain with their mink-liberations, although they claim to be protecting nature.

Talk about double standards...

Just a quick note, we're Omnivores not carinvores. Everything about our biological makeup suggests one third of what we eat should be other animals.

PETA members need to be rounded up for experimentation, to replace monkeys which can be better employed for anti tank work, like those Soviet dogs. Only with monkeys, they can place a charge and then escape. Once that’s done we get back to work on the whole dolphin-limpit mine thing.

How about their claims that cow's milk causes cancer? They had a campaign at several universities where posters said "Drink Beer, Not Milk!", and insulted NYC mayor Giuliani by using his image in an ad (the "Got Cancer?" one).

Lousy bastards.

Yeah - like that whale they released recently, that came back looking for humans. It's like, "Hello, these animals are *used* to living with humans around. Why are you throwing them out to fend for themselves?"

You do that to a dog, and the RSPCA will be on your ass for neglecting an animal, but when these guys do it to a whale, it's a GOOD thing? HTF is that meant to work?
Humans are carnivores. We wouldn't have cainines if we weren't. Herbivores have even teeth.
Ayup. We've got the full set, incisors, canines, molars. Designed to eat everything we can get our hands on. (Can't _digest_ all of it, unfortunately, but we can certainly eat it). Now a goat - there's an eating machine I can respect :)
These people really need to get a life. My guess is they can't find a job, so they go and bug other people for kicks.
Yeah - and the problem is the whackos give the reasonable ones a bad name. Because efforts to prevent needless suffering _are_ justified. The problem is when they anthropomorphise everything, and assume suffering exists where no sane person would believe it does. . . (not to mention considering the question of whether their proposed remedies cause more harm than good)

Personally, when a cow comes up to me and asks me to stop eating it's people, I will comply.

Of course, I'm just as happy with the other extreme, a la Restruant at the End of the Universe.

Ah, but the loons that work for PETA (important distinction there - not all PETA people are loons) think "if we can't talk to it, we should assume it suffers the same way people do, and value it like it is a person". And that's just bollocks.

Actually, a fair amount of the testing is ture and real, the fact that nothing is learned from such is the load of complete bull shit.

One of the new ones I've heard from groups like PETA has to do with the hormones that U.S. Dairy farmers give their cows to produce more milk.
Supposedly these female hormones make it into milk and have contributed to human males developing "breasts" as they get older.

I tend to think that a lack of exercise and too much food (perhaps including too much whole milk) is a contributing factor to man boobs more than hormones seeping into America's dairy products.

Actually, I don't doubt that experiments like this were carried out. That's not the problem, though. The problem is this:

Would you rather we shoot humans so our military medics can get practice? How about strapping a person down and exposing him to chemical weapons?

I like animals. Really, I do. I have two cats and a dog. But, in a broader sense, if I have to choose between respecting the sanctity of human life or that of an animal...guess what? The person wins.
