So then the upper limit yield is 43 gigatons? Wow... thats probably the most powerfull weapon conceieved by any of the Alpha quadrant powers using conventional means.
One of the cool things about the Dreadnaught I really liked was that plasma pulse wave blast it could do for defense. You could fire missiles at it from every direction and the plasma wave could simply knock them all out.
Apart from its bulky size, I would have to say it is one of the coolest weapons to come out of Trek simply for its shear firepower and interesting defense systems.

Ok so the most power weopen in the alpha quadrant is less powerful than a heavy turbolaser.
However what Janeway did in that episode was terrible. After she learned that the missile has locked into a random habitable planet she decided to risk voyger trying to save some nameless species. After failing to stop the dreadnaught B'leana informed Janeway that voygers entire torpedo complement would not be enough to destroy the rogue missile. Then Janeway decided to ram voyger into the dreadnaught to save some stupid, moronic species who could not defend themselves. Why should Janeway sacrifice a starfleet vessel to save some unknown race? How would they get home ? When was the last time you rammed your car into a truck to save pedistrian ? Besides voyger is a starfleet ship not her personal property and she has no right to sacrifice voyger to save an unknown species that is not a federation member.

"Oh no, oh yeah, tell me how can it be so fair
That we dying younger hiding from the police man over there
Just for breathing in the air they wanna leave me in the chair
Electric shocking body rocking beat streeting me to death"
