AFI Top 100 Heroes/Villains

Post by Dalton »

Anyone else see this?

Final Results

I caught the tail end, enough to see Han Solo at #14 Hero, Darth Vader at #3 Villain and Indiana Jones at #2 Hero. Obi-Wan Kenobi was #37 Hero.

The top spots went to Hannibal Lecter and Atticus Finch.

And yes, Arnie got on there twice as Terminator

Yes, I caught the very end of it. I thought it was really well done. Had some of my favourite characters of all time (Hannibal and Indiana Jones) right up there where they belong. Beautiful. :D

The list seems about right

Nurse Ratched should have been #2, though :)
"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."

Heh, if I didn't already have Hannibal on DVD then I'd get the box set of the Dr. Lector trilogy.

I saw the very end with Hannibal and Atticus Finch, which was pretty well done. Too bad I missed it.

Wait, how did the T-800 in T2 get 48 but the T-800 in The Terminator get 22? And where the hell is the T-1000?! And Vader only got number three? What is the world coming to?

Think about it... The T-800 in The Terminator was a bastard, much worse than the T-2000. I believe Arnold was the only one to get both Hero and Villian. The most nods were characters played by Bette Davis, three very evil bitches.

Probably not :P

But I like him more because the type of man persay to look up to and more then likely a bit of my mom rubbing off(She absolutely loves James Bond/Sean Connery version)...though if anyone, I like Indiana Jones as a role model.

Growing up I used him and Han Solo as persay my models of being a man

Well maybe gadgetized but rumor has it that Nancy has been getting plenty of tag-team train action from the Hardy Boys so she's pretty even with Bond on that account.

Luke was cool, but he was hardly at the level of badassitude that Han Solo was at.

However, he was nominated.

All in all, it was mostly what I expected. I would have reversed Vader and Bates. I also figured that they'd put in the T-800 despite my preference for the T-1000. I will never understand why Cruella Deville always seems to end up in these things. And "man" in Bambi? Come on.

Was no one from Trek mentioned at all? (I missed most of the show, dammit)

Seems like Kirk or Khan should have at least received an honourable mention.

In and of itself, that shouldn't matter, as many characters were in books as well first. But then again, yeah, AFI covers just cinema, and as much of a badass as Khan was, he's obviously in a long line of badasses.
