They all still follow the trajectories of extremely high-speed low-mass or massless lightspeed particles, albeit much, much slower in terms of actual propogation rate.

Maybe they have a sensor which measures the range and speed of the target and changes propagation rates so that you have a reasonable chance of hitting a highspeed or distant target. The bolt may be weaker or use more power with a highspeed shot.SWPIGWANG wrote:Maybe blasters are varible speed with different weapons and different power settings or something.....

Not a bad idea...it automatically conserves power (assuming a faster bolt requires more energy and a slower bolt requires less energy) and eliminates the need to lead targets. If I aim a blaster at a Stormtrooper 50 m away and fire and then take aim on a Stormtrooper 5 m away and fire, it will take the same amount of time for each bolt to hit each Stormtrooper. So you can just aim directly at the Stormtrooper and fire without having to make adjustments.

Like a pair of binoculars or a photographic camera with auto-focus thingy...Soulman wrote:Maybe they have a sensor which measures the range and speed of the target and changes propagation rates so that you have a reasonable chance of hitting a highspeed or distant target.
