Worst songs of all time?

Post by GrandMasterTerwynn »

I've seen threads about the sexiest musicians, the best types of music, the best albums, etc. What I haven't seen, so far, is a thread about the worst of the worst.

So, I'm making one. In your opinion, what is the worst song you've ever heard? If there are a number of 'popular' responses, I might create another thread with a poll.

This has been done before, but it was so long ago I doubt that anybody'll mind. It's just too fun of a subject.

My vote goes to "MacArthur Park". Nightmarishly bad.

Whatever, I love that song! It's fun! Especially when drunk and doing supermodel walks down the hallway! :P :D

Creed has provided the world a flood of craptastic songs that could all be contenders for this illustrious honor, but I must say that the maudlin, whining, irritating, and grossly overplayed "Arms Wide Open" edges out the rest of it's brothers.

Can anyone here say Spcice and Girls?

They weren't that bad, once you realized that they were completely manufactured and that you personally probably have more performing talent in your little finger than they did in their entire group.

But which of their songs was the absolute worst of the lot?

I like the "too sexy" song too, not to listen to in my spare time, but its a fun song to hear on the radio. It brings back some fun memories.

The song I hate most is "All for one" (or whatever its called) from Brain Adams and a bunch of other guys I normally don't mind listening to. I find the trick to getting the station changed is to sing it really badly, completely screwing up the words: "oh baby, it all for one, and one for all, or two for three, oh ya baaaabbeeee!!!!....."

Holiday Rap

We're all going on a... summer holiday,
Everybody say Yo Sven!

a bizarre amalgamation of Madonna and Cliff Richard and bad Scandinavian rap.

Are you implying there's good Scandanavian rap?

I think the band's name was "Aqua."

I'm vaguely disturbed that I know that. I hate the song, obviously, since I have it out for Barbie girls.

Yes, that has got to be one of the worst pieces of 'music' in the history of mankind. It sucked when it came out, and it made it's way onto my list when a DJ for a local radio station, in protestation over the station's refusal to broadcast his upcoming marriage live on the air, locked himself in the studio and played the song over and over and over again for approximately six hours straight.

Hey! That song is a deep introspective look into the life of Barbie!

They have other songs, which are much worse, and they have barbie girl in other languages. Barbie girl in german is just rediculas. I'de like to nominate t.a.t.u. since i dont like anything about them very much. Although my friends hella like them >_<

The Barbie song is burned into my memory, ask me when I'm 60 years old and I'll probably me able to do that jingle.

You know, talk about this song brings up another question. If you were a musician, and you knew that "Barbie Girl" was your best shot, would you commit ritual Japanese suicide to cleanse yourself, or would you take the money and run?

I gotta say that I like Aqua. Barbie Girl and Dr Jones are not ment to be taken seriously - they're piss takes!

And If I could Turn Back Time is a great little pop ballad, IMO. So there.

If it made me millions of dollars, yes. Then again, I'm not a musician-minded person, so I don't feel the need to maintain some kind of artistic integrity. Later, when I was washed-up, in interviews I'd just say "it was all business/marketing, I hated that song too".
