Ok, that's fine. I hope that my experiences are skewed, and that what I've been describing is not the status quo, but like I said, I've only been speaking from my own experience...unfortunately.
I'm sorry if I didn't express myself clearly - I didn't think you were lying, I just suspected you generalizing about young men being shallow. However, given that you're older than me, you probably know more about it than I do. My apologies.
Well, I was generalizing, but I have a fair number of examples to support my generalizations. I know for a fact that there are plenty of guys that do not fit my stereotypes, which is why I'm still a generally optimistic person, even when it comes to love. I believe there are sweet, sensitive guys out there, I just think they're very hard to find. Especially for girls who are looking for them in high school. But it's not impossible.
I've seen that picture of you, and you look kinda cute on it.
*chuckles* Thanks, I think? :P :D

I think its just a thing of equilibrium. Being to much of a nice guy or an ass will drive women away. I had the being 'too nice' problem for quiet some time in my life (that and it was linked with being rather shy), and then I developed my cynical, sarcastic side and all was well (now I have several girls who like to glomp and drap themselves on me... if anything it gets mildly annoying...). Of course one has to find their own equilibrium of niceness and ballsy assness, no real solution to this problem except case by case examination.

Romance is lost if only for one reason. Unfortunately, romance and charm are also the tools of some of our most serious psychopaths, which ruins things for the true gentlemen out there. Ah well. There's a whole french film that's about this, actually, wait, there's a whole slew of them. But this one I remember, the guy gets a call from this girl, is so pissed off by what she says that he reaches for the phone and then slams it against the wall into a million little peices. Then he runs to the closet, replaces his phone with a slightly used one in the closet. I think it rings a second later.
Anyways, the thing about this? Like attracts like? Yes, and furthermore, like produces like as well. Trust me, if you wind up with a psycho, you're going to start displaying some of their traits whether you like it or not. Something about fighting dragons, or staring into abysses. So don't try and compete with the assholes that you think you "lose" to. If it's sardonic wit you're looking for from yourself and a woman, stick around here for a while longer. And listen to dennis leary and punk songs for a couple of weeks straight.
Myself, I'm goint to stick to porn until a woman comes along that's better than the porn I look at. Wish. Me. Luck.

Its brutal

But seriously, it does get mildly annoying, especially since I go for the more shy, nice girls rather than the over sexed naughty girls who do that glomping thing with me.

On the original topic of nice guys vs jerks; http://www.fastseduction.com/guide/01_T ... guys.shtml
And on confidence; http://www.fastseduction.com/guide/02_H ... ence.shtml

FastSeduction.Com is a pretty fun read. Never tried to put it into practice myself, but then, I never get girls

Guten tag, mein herr.

And they say Ashton Klutcher and Demi Moore have an age gap. HA!

Don't let that deter you.

It IS true.

Older women have always paid me a lot of attention. I've felt like a piece of ass around most women 35+ ever since I was 15.

And I was the perfect gentleman around them. They didn't think I was some bad boy. They just liked me...and appreciated the fact that I was also nice :)

Men AND women mature. College won't change the intractable overnight, but being around so many different people and such a large community helps affect some kind of changes even into your hard-core drunken partier types. It forces people to become more independent, I think, and to look at their priorities a bit closer.

I know a 15-year old girl who once claimed to be dating a 20-year old man, but she later admitted to joking.
