Proposal: SD.net Book Club
Any takers? I'd love to do this if we could get together a group large enough, say seven or eight people. We could have the discussions here in OT, or maybe make it a private group.

That sounds interesting. Mainly because I need good books to read. But otherwise an interesting idea. I support it.

Count me in!
Nitram, slightly high on cough syrup: Do you know you're beautiful?
Me: Nope, that's why I have you around to tell me.
Nitram: You -are- beautiful. Anyone tries to tell you otherwise kill them.

Perhaps I should join to start reading again...but who decides what books to read? We vote?

With a Fantasy nut like me in there, it won't be.Zaia wrote:I'm in as long as all of the books aren't sci-fi.

I also don't think it would be a good idea to read political books, or accounts of history with a particular bias, because that would just turn into the Flamewar Club.

I'm studying for the CPA exam. Have a nice summer, and if you're down just sit back and realize that Joe is off somewhere, doing much worse than you are.

I wouldn't read something like that anyway honestly, waste of my time.Durran Korr wrote:I also don't think it would be a good idea to read political books, or accounts of history with a particular bias, because that would just turn into the Flamewar Club.

Ok, it seems like a lot of people are interested in this. My suggestion would be that we all recommend a book that we haven't read that looks interesting. They don't have to be Sci-fi or Fantasy. Each month we'll choose one and everyone reads it. After the first two weeks we'll begin discussing our opinions of the book.
