1. commercial for Mitsubishi, acoustic guitars and mandolins. Lyrics: "I wish, that, I knew what I know now, when I was younger."
2. commercial for Pontiac, blind lady drives in the desert, instrumental (in the ad, at least) with surf-guitars and Rhodes, kind of space-age surf music.
Anyone know what songs those are?
Does anyone know these songs?

1. "Ooh La La" [Faces]
Poor old granddad,
I laughed at all his words,
I thought he was a bitter man,
He spoke of women's ways.
'They trap you, then they use you,
before you even know.
Well love is blind, and you're far too kind.
Don't ever let it show.'
CHORUS:
I wish that I knew what I know now,
when I was younger.
I wish that I knew what I know now,
when I was stronger.
The can-can such a pretty show
Will steal your heart awa
But backstage back on earth again
The dressing rooms are grey
They come on strong and it ain't too long
For they make you feel a man
But love is blind and you soon will find
You're just a boy again
When you want her lips, you get her cheek
Makes you wonder where you are
If you want some more then she's fast asleep
Leaves you twinkling with the stars
Poor young grandson there's nothing I can say
You'll have to learn, just like me
And that's the hardest way, ooh la la.
CHORUS
2. No idea, sorry.

Thank you kindly, ma'am :tips hat:Zaia wrote:1. "Ooh La La" [Faces]

Edit: Judging a song strictly by the 30 seconds of chorus in an advert is premature, but I was hoping that Faces song was more of a wise and wistful song about being bitter than another "wimmins done me wrong" song. That's what Blues are for

Well, I finally tracked this one down, and it appears that the music was written for the ad and not commercially available.Drewcifer wrote:2. commercial for Pontiac, blind lady drives in the desert, instrumental (in the ad, at least) with surf-guitars and Rhodes, kind of space-age surf music.

I emailed the media contact and hopefully Pontiac will be putting out a demo cd, available at dealerships. I really, really like that song. It's one of the few times I turn *up* the volume for a commercial
