Is there whiteholes?
there is a thing called blackholes, but is there a thing called a whitehole?

UUhhhh...... Right.
Ok, back on topic, I can't quite recall, but I think Hawking dubbed a possible "reversed" Black Hole (i.e., they emit radiation back from whereever Black Holes suck it to), but we have not, as of yet, identified one.
Pardon me if I am incorrect, as I am more of a historian with some focus on the biological sciences, not physics and engineering.

Re: Is there whiteholes?
A black hole is just an object massive enough to have a surface with an escape velocity higher than the speed of light.metalman3797 wrote:there is a thing called blackholes, but is there a thing called a whitehole?
You could call a super-massive star a "white hole" ( emitting MUCH light ), but I don't think it would really fit.
An interesting an "funny" fact is that Quasars ( objects with the size of our solar system and an energy output up to 100+ times larger than our galaxy ! ) are essentially a black hole. The gas cloud around a black hole is one of the most efficient mass-to-energy conversion "machines" we have found in nature...

due to the fact that blackholes are viewed to have a "rip" at the bottom of their gravity well, all the matter goes through there and comes out in a whitehole in another universe, at which point an equal amount of matter and energy is consumed and sent into another universe, and continues like this until it reaches our universe. Repeat ad infinitum in order to obey the Laws of Conservation. My point is that whiteholes are the exact opposite of blackholes: they have a negative amount of gravities. So, they just hurl out light and matter at near-relativistic speeds.
Note: I'm only in grade 8. Correct me if I'm wrong about the LoC.

It is not well for one to trifle in the affairs of the ancient Chinese generals, for they have a tendency to send armies of tens of thousands of warriors after those who challenge them.

Hmm ? Black holes don't throw matter into other universes, that' no science that's fantasy. Black holes just consume the matter and become more massive...Admiral Griffith wrote:due to the fact that blackholes are viewed to have a "rip" at the bottom of their gravity well, all the matter goes through there and comes out in a whitehole in another universe, at which point an equal amount of matter and energy is consumed and sent into another universe, and continues like this until it reaches our universe. This might be an interesting fact to see how Nova-Bombs could work. Gravity is the only force that hold Stars/Black-Holes together. Could it be that a Nova-Bomb manages to cancel out the gravity of a stellar object for some time ? The pressure inside it would let it explode at once.Crossover_Maniac wrote:The Andromeda fired 40 nova bombs into a black hole, cancelling its gravity, and turning it into a white hole. Not even black holes are safe from the wrath of the Systems Commonwealth.

Yes, they either cancel or reverse gravity.HRogge wrote:This might be an interesting fact to see how Nova-Bombs could work. Gravity is the only force that hold Stars/Black-Holes together. Which would explain that black hole chick who was screwing with Dylan's mind.
It's conspiracy! The black holes are in league with the Magog!
The end is near!

The myths of white hole
White holes was a creation of Astronomer in the 60's to explain the energies output of quasars.. The throught was that the matter and energies consumed by black hole would have to reappear (either in our universe or a parallel) via a theoritcal Worm hole type structure called Rossen Einstein Bridge that said to existed in at the center of a black hole..
They were wrong, Quasar are actually the emission of the energy by Giant Black hole that are said to exist in the center of galaxies..
Black holes do generate energy in two way, first the gas falling into a black hole and it radiates, and as long as this energy is emitted outside the Event Horizion it escapes..
Another is via Hawking radiation, which is due the Quantum fluctations cause by the massive gravity fields of the black hole.. As long as the Black hole can consume energy and matter it get bigger, the minute it is unable to intake matter it will begin to shrink slowily as it radiate it energy of it gravity field away as hawking's radiation.
Smaller black holes radiate faster than bigger, and when the blackhole reaches a critical size it will evaporate, releasing it remaining energy...
This explosion is sometimes consider a white hole...
A second theory of White hole would invovled a object that did reach the singularite at the center.. In theory a spinning black hole would have a ring shape singularite at the center, Entering the center of the ring would lead to Worm hole that would open briefly to another universe ( forming a temporaty white hole) .. The Opening would only last for brief time and would become a black hole...
