Dooku

Post by Shroom Man 777 »

I just read the D. Tyrannus vs. D Vader thread.

And I got thinking.... Dooku would try to sieze power from Palpy or try to kill him, why? Remember when he said "Join me Obi-Wan and together we can destroy the Sith!"

What's up with that?

Maybe he has his own motives and he is not really a Sith.

But obviously he is serving Palpy, hence he ought to be a Sith.....

Enlighten me!

Vader made much the same offer to Luke at Bespin. Betrayal is a constant threat for a Sith Lord. Dooku might well have truly sought Obi-Wan's help to bring Sidious down, only to usurp the power for himself. The civil war was already pretty much inevitable at that point, and Dooku had set him self up as the leader of one of the two major factions; with Sidious out of the way, it might well be possible for the Separatists to win the war and Dooku to set himself up as Emperor.

It said in the TMP novelisation that there where only ever 2 Sith at a time, a master and an apprentice. I highly doubt a fully trained Sith just moves off to a retirement home in Commenor or Naboo. I see it being a situation where the apprentice moves up in power and takes out the Master in a battle. Just my opinion. Twice now we've seen Sith Apprentices, Dooku and Vader, make offers to Jedi asking for help to take out Palpy.

Yes, that's right about the master betrayal. Also, there is evidence from several sources that Vader and Palpatine had several potiental Sith apprentices lined up!

Palpatines include Lord Jerec, as well as Mara Jade and the other "Hands", plus the Grand Inquisitor of the Empire, and infamous Blackhole

Vader's include Luke, Leia once he knew, Shiria Biere/Lady Lumiya (the Sith Lord after Vader and Palaptine), the Proector of Justice Lord Hethier, and and Admiral in the Imperial navy who's name I forget.

By the time of A New Hope, the rule of two was becoming a formality. Palaptine had trained Dark side Force users in the form of the Emperor's Hands (comparable to a Sith acoylte), the Secret order and the Prophets of the Dark Side (again, comparable to a Sith Acoylte), as well as the Royal Gaurdsman (some where comparable to a Sith Warrior)

Vader had trained several of the Emperor's Hands, Dark Jedi Knights (comparable to Sith lords), had a hand in the Royal Gaurdsman, and the Imperial Inquisitors (comparable to Sith Warriors, most were Dark jedi Knights with limited true Jedi training)

Toss the rule of two (which it's been hinted Palpatine wanted to do once the Jedi were completely gone and the rebellion crushed. No idea if Vader planned to, but I'm sure if both of his kids had turned he would have) out the window, and just going by names I know, that's like 20 new Sith waiting to happen....

Dooku certainly had his own agenda. Remember that he wished to go for a distinctly "grey" Force. Both the light and the dark, each complimenary and self-moderating. And in his case, ultimately impossible.
