Really I am. Those damn G1 Cartoon elitists Bunch of fuckwits who worship that shitty cartoon show and never let up on the shit and can't debate worth a fuck. Bunch of idiots who can't grow up and wail and wail if you dare change one thing about that show (like the Dreamwave comic redesigns) or point out who stupid the ol' cartoon really was at times. I'm ranting I know... just venting. They just really piss me off.

While I like Transformers, I don't like idiots.

If they give you a bullshit time, send them to this site.

http://www.nothing-sacred.net/reviews/

They can read for themselves all the gaffs that have been made in this show.

Thank God not everyone else on this board is a G1-fanatic. At least I now know that there is another besides me who knows the truth behind that shitty G1 Cartoon.

Tell me which transfan message board are you coming from?

I come from Transfandom.com

Over there, we call 'em "Transfans"

everyone fan that isn't a fucking idiot is called "intelligent"

I actually started the first anti-transfan club over there.

The "Dragon not bedpan club"

They constant motto of the transfans is "Trukk not Munkky" (with that spelling) in regards to Beast wars. They think it sucks though it is quite likely the best transformers show to ever be.

Now in the days preceeding my club's formation, somebody made a

"Gunn Not Dragunn" thread.

For me this was the last fucking straw, hence "Dragon not Bepdan club" was formed to combat the forces of idiocy

The Bedpan comes from a well written essay on why G1 Megatron is dumbass. I''ll look around and see if i can find it.

Oh he is quite the dumbass :D Hell his later Japanese TF successor are better than him and that ain't sayin' much :D Yeah Beast Wars was a pretty well written show. Plus the G1 comic was very good and the G2 comic is even better in my opinion. Though both comics have the damn nanorobot cliche. Ah well.

Fuck transformers in all respects

Kids don't need 22 minutes of intermittent combat between machines, they need 22 minutes of graphic violence with a SST+ gore factor, and all of it between human and rapid wild dogs with knifes and baseball bats to desensitize there minds early while there still worth while molds for my Army's elite.

You guys are just pissed because you don't have cool childhood memories of the Transformers, and those Care Bear memories of yours are just too damned embarrassing to bring up in public.

Care Bear Stare!!! I heard they were making a comeback. Heh. Either way, Transformers, I just don't get RiD. Armada I have not seen yet, but a few friends of mine that grew up on transformers like myself said it wasn't that great. The comic book series is looking promising.

Actually I have very fond memories of the G1 cartoon from when I was a youngin'.

I loved the dinobots, and the movie. And I tried to get my dad to rent me as many dinobot-featured episodes as possible.

But now as I look back on it, I realize that it was horse shit. I like to watch the movie every now and then for nostalgia value. And absolutely nothing beast Unicron's theme song...but God damn it, it makes the writers of Voyager look good by comparison.

I too like so many others have fond memories of G1. Rid, and Armadda suck. The animation is good, the rest sucks. Beast wars had the best plots, and the cgi kicked ass. As for Megatron, for my money, nothing beats the gun.
But if you want to talk about transforming robot cartoons, nothing beats Robotech.

I was trying to figure out if that avatar was a Zentraedi or not. . . then I looked at the location field :P

Transformers was certainly one of my favourite shows growing up. Haven't seen enough of the later stuff to compare (saw one episode of Beast Wars, and was thinking 'this is pretty cool', then saw an Autobot logo and went 'Hey, damn cool!')

I've found it generally unwise to go back and watch shows like that though. . . I prefer not to run the risk of tainting my memories of how good I thought they were while I was a kid :) Some shows are well-enough written to stand up to to it. . . but a lot of them aren't :(

Most of my fond memories of Transformers began when I recieved a Powermaster Opimus Prime at age 2! (fuck five and up! I was smart!) In all seriousness I had much more fun playing with the toys than watching the show. Most of the toys I had (Micromasters, Sparkabots, Pretenders) are never ever shown in the US cartoon. Good thing about being a toy fan is that you don't get into stupid continuity arguements for which the cartoon has very little of. :D

This is the thread on Dreamwave. Note how the ignorance is off the chart for some. Oh and Sheba is a creationist, we debated once.

I always had the villains growing up: first it was Darth Vader figures and TIE fighters, then my collection of Decepticons, and of course a whole slew of Cobra action figures as well. When I got older and my brother was buying F-15 and F-16 model kits, I had MiG-29s and Su-27s.

I also had a care bear or two. Go figure.

Yeah I know. Sheba is a fucking idiot. Though I don't know what (s)he's done on your board, I know that at Seibertron.com
(s)he started such a thread a year ago.

Heh, double team creationist beatdown (TM) sounds like a plan :)

Edit: Did you check that Starscream bitch? Man what a spaz. She wants everyone to treat her fairly when the first posts she ever did on that board were just complaints and constant nitpicks about the Dreamwave comic in comparison to the cartoon. Yeesh.

Ooh... methinks "Dragon Terracon", er, "Shadow WarChief" here wants me to smack him down again. :P

G1 had it's moments on both sides of the spectrum, but like Mike here, I have very very fond memories of G1 as a child. And I was just, like, 3 when I got into TFs; Mike was already on his way to teenage going by his stated age. So I've got more soul invested in this. :)

But, I won't smack you down again if you go beat the shit out off that Creationist. :)

Actually, something has to get old first, and then it becomes nostalgia.

I dunno, twenty year old cartoon is old to me :D I do like Transformers, but the Transfundies just ain't worth the trouble. As I told both Sheba and Starscream to go fuck off like the Transfundies they are. Just ain't worth it... All the continuity wars, the screaming fans, and the idiots in between it just ain't worth it.
