Special Forces Stormtroopers appeared in the X-Wing: Rogue Squadron comic books. There's links to a couple of pictures on this page, but basically they look like WWF wrestlers wearing the standard stromtrooper armor without the helmet or body glove.
Um, don't look at me, it wasn't my idea.

Howedar is no longer here. Need to talk to him? Talk to Pick.
Ah, so it's a group name, not the location for where they're trained to fight. Because if it were...neoolong wrote:Blackhole troopers are still storm troopers though. They just have black armor and are part of the intelligence organization Blackhole.

Along those lines, Lumiya had a two squads of Royal Guardsmen who wore crimson-colored standard stormtrooper armor. There's a picture of them here.neoolong wrote:Blackhole troopers are still storm troopers though. They just have black armor and are part of the intelligence organization Blackhole.

KickAssTrooper?
My favorite: BornToKillTrooper.
The best move would be not to name them, just give the general monicker of storm trooper, they're a special unit already. Besides, wouldn't the bureaucracy be horrendous?

It makes sense to me. Even if it didn't have a real military purpose (I don't actually know), it helps us identify and name them quickly.
Otherwise you'd have to call them "Forest Stormtroopers" instead of Scout Troopers, "Underwater Stormtroopers" instead of Sea troopers, ect. Its just easier that way.
