Exactly, the 2 Sovietsky Soyuz are both very sleek and elegant ships.
And you can have one! All you need are the 80% finished construction plans, and several hundered million dollars :P

Actually, you'd need around 5 billion. No nation on earth can build guns of that caliber or come close to making face-hardened armor plate of the required thickness. Building new plants would cost a huge amount, and few people are left who could train personal to run them.

You'd also need use of Newport News's main dry dock and fabrication plants for a couple years, or you can build your own yard. Tack on another 5 billion for that.

I would then sink it in a single pass with my modfied F-108 Rapier Or better yet my B-70B vectored thrust dive-bomber/standoff missile launcher

That's a decoy flare system? It looks more like a cross-burning ritual!

I found it more reminiscent of an angel. Note the smoke wings spreading behind the craft.

Its actually often called the Angle system.

To really cool thing is the system has enough flare to do that three or four times in a row about a half second apart. Theres some really cool video floating around of a C-130 firing thee bursts at night from this system.

I have a cool calander in my cube, this months pic is of a AH-1W Cobra triggering its flares. Your pic reminded me of that.

I know this is a bit off topic, but are the Brits still developing a new carrier?

I don't know what the fuck on topic would be for this thread…

Yes the UK's CVF is still alive and well and planned for a 2012 service entry with a second ship soon after. There is also a growing amount of support for a third carrier but I doubt it will be bought, even though the UK could afford to support up to four carriers plus HMS Ocean, Albion and Bulwark

Currently a 50,000-ton ship with catapults and an angled deck is expected. They really should go with 60 or 75K which would give a huge boost in air group for a minimal cost, but that' not going to happen.

The naval variant of the F-35 JSF will be embarked with a max air group of about 50 planes and helicopters. The UK plans on buying 60 F-35's so its likely each carrier would have 24-28 of them since some will be needed for training. Four fixed wing AEW aircraft are supposed to be carried as well, likely E-2's or whatever the USN develops for the new common support aircraft project.

Now we one can only hope the UK doesn’t have a repeat of the 1966 defense white paper..

As a stripped hulk ready for scrapping, perhaps 65 million dollars plus the cost of a chartering a good sized ocean going tug, thats a few more million if you want to leave Europe.

If you want somthing which doesnt require a tow, a few hundred million to get the secondary engines running and the ship seaworthy.

As a combat ready warship that has been fully refitted, 3.5 billion minimal.

Damn I will then have to settle with the stripped hulk.
Here's my plan: If every member of the board sold his, his parent's and (eventually) grandparent's houses and gave the money to me, and additionally signed a contract to serve on the ship and obey my orders for their lifetime, then I could get my own battlecruiser!!!!
