I'm clan McGreggor somewhere in the mists of time. Anyone got that one?

Still can't find a Johansen coat of arms! I, indeed, am a lowly commoner!

Then again, it only lists british and irish surnames. And the name "Johansen" is probably too pedestrian to deserve a coat of arms.

Hey! :D

Mind you, I did hear this rather good one, but it takes ten minutes to tell, and you may hound me off the board if I attempt to replicate it...

It's a reference to Monty Python's lumberjack sketch. Somebody mentioned lumberjacks.

yeah, the heart of a lion! but honestly, i don't know where the heart came from. the one my parents had hanging in the living room did not have the heart. everything else was the same though.

I'm pretty sure any name beginning in "Mc" is Scottish.
Not necessarily. I just found McCarthy.

McCarthy

EDIT: SWC's problem might have been that they don't alphabetize by "Mc", only by the surname (Donnel instead of O'Donnel, Carthy instead of McCarthy).
just a tidbit Rob, O before a name means "son of" so O'Donnell would translate roughly to Son of Donnell in ancient Gaelic
