How many languages do you speak?

English, and a bit of French. Shame really, I just dont have the confidence to use the French I do know, despite the fact that my accent aint bad and I can remember most of it still.

My English is quite good (or so I tend to believe). I also speak French, Portuguese and Spanish.

I speak English, and I can speak a little Spanish (I know how to swar in Spanish, that should be enough), but I probably couldnt' survive in a Spanish-speaking country, because they speak too fast for me to understand.

I can also speak in pig latin, ebonics, and redneck. Ello-hay. Wassup my niggaz? 'Dem varmints is takin' my moneys!

I speak English fluently of course. And speak enough German to navigate an survive in a German speaking country, it is my aspiration to become fluent however....then move to Germany(or at least travel there on a regular basis)

wicked good point. these days, Spanish is as widespread as Enlish around here, and you cna walk down he street in NYC and hear about a hundred different tongues.

The joke was tolod to me by a Russian friend, and the sort of Americans who vacation in Russia generally speak only English.

Spanish- 4 years in Highschool...I can get by barely(it was 14 years ago give me a break ok

I can get the gist of some Nordic languages because they look and sound like German

English, obviously. I can also speak Irish though i can't spell none of it. I can order drinks and propse a toast in most languages. It's a survival trait. In September i'm going to night school to learn German.

I can speak "official" American English or American English with a Philadelphia accent ("Yo! One of youse get me a glass of woodder! The Iggles are playing!").

My Latin is atrocious and my Spanish is worse.

And I can curse in Italian.

Several American dialects of English (Standard, Long Island/Noo Yawka, "Ebonic", Southern) as well as British English. A little bit of French. A smattering of Italian (mainly long strings of obscenities with the odd useful word here and there).

I get the distinct feeling that I understand more Italian than I think I do; that's a relic of 23 years living with two native speakers (though it is a dialect).

I also know a couple of words in several other languages, including Spanish, German, Japanese and (believe it or not) Lakota/Sioux. Probably a relic from my father, who speaks Spanish fluently and knows quite a bit in several other languages.

I know English, the Midwestern variant although I occasionally lapse into other dialects just for the hell of it. I also speak(somewhat) Mexican Spanish, Michuacan(sp) variant to be precise.
