Since I've never done an IQ test, does that mean my own results should be higher?

I'll assume it does and put the matter to a rest.

I must have failed one question, but I really don't know which one, I thought I had them all correct.

Heh. ^^; Well, I'm really not sure, but I thought those questions were a bit too easy to be giving out a 142 for even a perfect score, so....

They were. The grammar and mathematical ones were very easy. A few of the graphical were a bit more confusing. Still, they were easy to understand.

On the Emode test I got a 138 once upon a time. On a Sanford-Binet I got a 157, and Fox's test the nation gave me a 130, but that one had an upper limit and some ridiculous age-normalization.

And yes, I'm a MENSA member. Its not that great.

Note: If you got tested before you were 18, you need to get retested, definitely if it was before you were 16. They do some standardization for younger kids, and it doesn't take variable mental development into account. When I was in 1st grade, I had developed fast, so they gave me an IQ test. I was probably at 2nd or 3rd grade mentally, so they overcompensated and said I had an IQ of 180. Sad to say, my school flipped out and skipped me a few grades without telling my parents, and thought I was going to be the next Einstein. My parents pulled me out of that school.

Needless to say, I'm not

Bah, 129 - but I wont lose too much sleep over it, mind you, I was eating my dinner at the same time, so thats got to add a few points...

I am apparently an insightful linguist. *insert joke about being a cunning linguist here*

Never really decided if I was more of a science or history person, I'm doing an Env. Science degree, but there are times when I miss history and english lit. Am going to plough through that Simon Schana (or Schama, can never remember which) text about mans cultural effect on landscape when I get home for summer, and if I can get through that, then I will dance upon the grave of this IQ test... muahaha!

I'm not a big fan of IQ tests. Especially, since with my test-taking skills, how well I do is directly proportional to the mood I'm in, and what I have been doing recently.

I actually sat a proper test of IQ before. A uni student i knew set it up as part of a social experiment. I scored 142. However that was before I started drinking heavily and attempted a to earn Darwin Award. My brains may be a bit more battered than they where then.
