I've maintained that those things are evil and a waste of gyros for some time.

Though I must say they where really scraping the bottom with eight photos of this, he didn't even hit the ground.

And they're pretty nmuch useless as short-distance transport. There's a 250 pound weight limit for them, so people who are too lazy to walk short distances probably be too heavy to be able to use it.

Segways would be very useful for urban areas, for trips which are too long to comfortably or quickly walk but really too short to drive. However, as far as I can tell, the only way to make them approppriate for city use is to ban pedestrians from the sidewalk or cars from the street. There's just no place for them to go other than bike paths, and they'd be obstacles for the bikers.

I think that probably the only real practical use for the segway is simply for security patrol. Makes for much more frequent rounds.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to look dignified while riding one of those fucking Segway scooters. Bush would have looked stupid on that thing regardless of whether it fell over.
