ARG! No Spirited Away posters!

Post by phongn »

Damnation! Apparently no-one is selling the theatre-edition poster for Spririted Away. I found a few foreign-language ones and one for video shop, but not the one in theatres (except on eBay, and $25 is a bit steep).

I know a place locally that sells such movie posters, usually for a decent price. In fact, I got a Princess Mononoke poster there for 10 bucks. Want me to check it out to see if they have any in stock for you and if they do, I'll get if for you?

Sure.

If it's this one I'd be much obliged if you can tell me more.

Ebay had a one-sheet (quite nice and it'd match my Episode II IMAX one sheet) but that was a bit pricey.

I do believe I can hook you up. The place I'm going tomorrow could stock god's already chewed gum in it's original wrapper if given 48 hours notice and happens to be on my route tomorrow.

Basically, a sullen girl named Chihiro and her family take a detour while moving to a neighborhood. They end up in the spirit world, her parents chow down on some food reserved for the spirits, and the witch that governs the bathhouse and amusement park for spirits turns them into pigs. She then bumps into a character named Haku, who tells her that she needs to get a job at the bathhouse in order to stay in the spirit world in order to help her parents. The movie is about her adventures and her learning valuable life lessons while dealing with the various spirits that live and work within the bathhouse. With that extremely poor description, I highly recommend the movie, as it is fantastic. Well worth the money to rent/buy the movie.

For an alternate opinion, it was boring as shit. I only made it through the whole thing because my sister was making me watch it. Things happened for no discernable reason, and the plot (if any) was often hard to follow.

Spirited Away was a beautiful movie with an awesome soundtrack. Eventually it makes sense.

Well, day one in my search for said poster has ended in failure. Fortunately, I haven't exhausted all options, but I'm going to have to wait till Monday before I can search them.
