Are not the Republic T.I.E. fighters part of the EU alongside with Republic Victories?
Your addendum caused a question:
Were the Acclamators' crew made up from clones or not?

Quite honestly, I don't know jack shit about any Republic TIE's. So *shrug* couldn't tell ya.

As for the Acclamators', well again I believe that the Republic had a naval force to begain with (note the crew of the Radient) so it is possible that the crew of the Acclamators' were regular human (or what ever) and only the ground force was clones.

I am sure some would like to think that the Acclamators were clone driven so that it was a nice neat package, but that would also be a waste of cash and clones to make combat troops and then use them to crew your assualt ships. I guess that it would be some what plausable if they cloned another template (navy guy) for a clone crew but a combat trained clone would be wastefull to use as a ships crew.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red
