Without the ability to force choke his opponent Vader loses a major part of his coolness factor. Unfortunately, the Headless horseman isn't immune to lightsabers so, Vader slices and dices. Or he pulls a Dark Helmet on the unwitting headless one and having neutered his opponent, quite litterally, he kicks his ass with his lightsaber. So Vader.

The Horseman is a ghost. He is already dead. His body may not even always have to be a solid physical form. What is Vader going to do. If Darth does get across the bridge, his armour better hold up to a 18th century spectral sword.

vader has precog, force abilities, and lightsaber. I dont think a dark side spirit can handle the dark lord of the sith.

We're talking about that movie, Sleepy Hollow, right? Or we're talking about that original book/story thing?

I'll assume the movie.

Wouldn't the Headless Horseman keep coming back since he is a ghost and all....?

Maybe after temporarily putting the dammned thing down Vader investigates using his force abilities, finds that witch, slices her up and tosses the Horseman his skull......

If you broke the skull would the Horseman get killed forever or will he be just uber pissed?

If it was a 1 on 1 fight, no reincarnation shit, obviously Vader takes it.

It would be cool to see Vader force choke the devil horse and it falls to the ground dead and the Horseman gets thrown into the air cuz of the fall.....

Well if this is the Horsemen that has a corperial form--then Vader suspends him in the air and ties him down or something until he can solve the mystery.

If not...well, I'm not too well versed there. I presume Vader could fight off the ghost by delving into the Force; that's a shakey guess at most though.

Depends on if Force Lightning can affect an incorporeal spirit.

Vader is definatly a better swordsman, but that whole "being an undead ghost" thing that the horseman has makes thing interesting

I think people need to learn that the fact that the Horseman will 'keep comign bakc' doesn't mean that the Horseman is winning.

But Vader isn't technically winning either.

Vader will get too tired to fight, and then the Horseman gets him.

Or Vader dies of old age after 20 years of just hacking horsemen to pieces.

Vader will be in Jedi heaven (or hell) or be one with the force or something. They stay in heaven or where ever.

The Horseman is staying in Earth.

Unless of course the Horseman finds his head or something... and he goes to hell or spiritsville. Then maybe they get to continue fighting.

Hmmm.....

What if Vader dices the Horseman (or slice him in several pieces so that he'll be incapable of moving), would the Hman reform (or reincarnate) with a new whole body, or will his remains just stay alive (and stay in pieces) for the rest of eternity?

Kinda odd.... don't you think?

Well he's looking for his head, I suppose he'd have to start looking for the other pieces too. If its the movie horseman, we saw his head fit back on pretty nicely, so the sliced pieces would probably come back together too. Unless you garbbed a few chunks before that could happen. Than maybe he'd be the headless, footless, horseman. :D

If we're talking about the actual legend, the horseman's a ghost and the lightsaber would do nothing to him.

Look at it this way- if we're both martial arts experts, but you're so much better than me that you kick my ass, yet, I'm immortal, so I keep coming back, and you keep kicking my ass- it's hardly a basis to say tie, is it?

I thought Vader couldn't use Force Lightning?? (The only Sith Lords I recall using Force Lightning are Count Dooku and Emperor Palpatine)

I know the father of the guy who won the Oscar for Sleepy Hollow art direction, so I must vote for the Headless Horseman.

From a sword fighting perspective, I think the Horsemen is a better fighter than the OT Vader. But that's really not worth much considering that a lightsabre will slice through the medal swords. Given that, there is really nothing the horsemen can do except simply dodge all of Vader's shots, hoping for an opening. Then there is the question of wether or not his sword can actually puncture Vader's armor if he does get in. I give this victory to Vader.
The most basic assumption about the world is that it does not contradict itself.

Vader's lightsabre, precog, and TK would give him the easy win. And the "he'll keep coming back" argument is limited. Eventually, so much of his body will have been vapourized by lightsabre attacks that there won't be enough of him to function. Vader will probably do something drastic to his body parts after the 2nd or 3rd incident anyway, like sticking them into a box and welding it shut (or lobbing it at the nearest convenient star).
