In one of the commercials they show the face of one of the homonids and it looked exactly like one of those bounty hunter's from Farscape, in the episode on that solar flare planet and eventually at the shadow depository.

I also like the shark week commercials:
Scenes of people standing outside of their swimming and wadding pools, looking in tentatively.

Break out the cheesy poofs, I know where I'm gonna be tonight. The Simpsons is in rerun, so there's nothing to keep me from my beloved science.

I'm onboard for this one, as well. Nothing like educational entertainment. Nothing.

Its on free-to-air over here, but I suppose that it would never make it past the censorship boards in the US due to "offensive content".

And though its not nearly as good as Walking With Dinosaurs or Walking With Beasts, it is still pretty good.

No, it's gonna show... I've been seeing commercials for weeks now (here in FL)... the FCC is tight-assed, but not THAT bad (yet...)

I dunno, probably joking that America is so PC we can't support the existence of cavemen. It looks good, and their previous special on cavemen was well done.

I never watched it when it was on here a time ago, but I hear the US one is narrated by Alec Baldwin, I'm sure he didn't do it originall on the UK broadcast.

I still think Walking With Dinosaurs & Walking With Beasts was brilliant television.

I think he was refering to non-cable tv. It may not be able to be shown on NBC for instance...

Pff. There is no censorship board for any of the broadcast networks that would prevent something like "walking with Cavemen."

It is, however, more likely it would be broadcast on PBS>

Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."

Well, I'll put it this way, any fundie who watched the show would be incited to violece, either that or reduced to a quivering mass.

-Promoting evolution
-Violence
-Nakedness
-Promoting evolution
-Discussion of sexual intercourse and courtship
-The whole evolution thing
-Its just eeeeeeviiiiiil. An affront to God...

How many fundies does your censorship board have?

Not enough to censor anything like that, especially on Discovery.
If it was network TV, the nekkid folks running around might get the axe or pixellation, might.
It's not always as bad as you think here.

Yet.

There's no such thing as a censorship board here. Networks can get fined for violating FCC regulations, but those are limited to full frontal nudity, the "seven dirty words", and I THINK the actual act of killing someone on TV (I can't recall right now actually seeing somebody at the moment a bullet or knife hits them. I remember when "Gladiator" was broadcast on network TV, all the shots of people getting stabbed were gone). It's unconstitutional for the government to impose "prior restraint". The individual networks have censorship boards, but their only concern is staying within FCC regulations and not offending advertisers.

A show like this wouldn't get broadcast network airtime because its audience is too small, not because it would offend fundies (the fundies haven't gotten all the shows with openly gay characters off the air, or shows where unmarried couples live together, or other things that irritate them). In the States, the networks seek the broadest possible audiences, which is why you get a lot of lowest-common-denominator crap like reality shows on the networks, while the cable and satellite channels cater to niche markets like sports fans, science geeks, kids, golf nuts, history fanatics, and the like.

Incidently, I'm watching Meet the Parents instead of WWC.
