This here is Denver International as seen from a Terminal Aeronautical Chart. Do the way the five runways are laid out kinda look a little funny to you?

Yeah, that Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy has got a hold here in Colorado. The individual work cubbies in the media center at my school look like swastikas due to the way they're arranged. Oh yeah, and my school's adminstration are fucking Nazis.

LOL Ohh shit. ~Jason
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

Ignoring what it kind of resembles, that is a very fucked up layout.

ORD and DFW have seven runways, IIRC, and ORD is scheduled to get an eight.

Screwy as it looks, it still has got to be safer than Stapleton was. Scariest landing I've ever had! It was like a Ju87 attack, except it was in a 737.

Actually it is a very good layout. You can have five jets land at once without doing land and hold short operations. This is because none of the runways intersect and all five planes could do go arounds and not expect to hit each other.

But far more importantly, its ugly :D

I think it would make a good deal more sense to move the 9-27S and stick it just to the north of 9-27N.

BTW, I noticed this last time I flew into Denver, it is, uhm, odd to say the least.

BTW, Phong, when are they gonna get done with O'Hare? That right there is a screwey looking airport.

The pictures won't show up for me, and I'd really like to see them...

Edit: Nevermind, I can see them now. I wonder if they really did have a drunk Nazi design the runway layout for Denver.

I've flown though it several times, the place seemed screwy but I didn't know it was that bad.

Improvements for ORD: http://modernization.ohare.com/program_ ... ration.htm

It really does have a miserable configuration; when flying from ORD -> TPA, we spent something like half an hour wandering to different runways as the wind shifted.
