not likely. Arnold is a naturlized citizen (immigrant), therefore he cannot be President or Vice-President. A constitutional ammendment would b needed.

Why can't naturalized citizens be President. I think that's fucked. Schwarznegger as President would rule.

Naturalized citizens were, at the time of the constitutional convention, believed that they would always hold a certain loyalty to their country of origin.

As a California Republican, I am certainly looking forward to the november ballot. Hey, I signed up to recall Davis.

Seriously though any attempt at changing that now would be seen by the Dems as the Republicans prepping to send a very popular candidate into the election and they would fight it as a matter of short term political strategy. The right wing and the 'hard hat' democrats would fight it because, well, they just don't like immigrants.

Changing the constitution for the sake of one man is a bad idea. Constitutional law is reserved for the highest principles of the country (one reason why the 18th Amendment was such a rotten idea - it codified into constitutional law something that didn't merit anything more than a statute), and the Constitution should NOT be changed for a single political candidate, or for some silly lark.

If anybody had a better reason for wanting to change the Constitution and allowing naturalized citizens to serve as the president than "I LIEKS TEH TURMIN4T0R!!!1!1!!", it might be a different thing. But a constitutional amendment just so you can have President Ah-nuld? That's just dumb.
