Imperial Army
Is there Imperial army infantry? We know that the imperial army drives vehicles and such, but are there infantry units? It would be pretty unfesable to have an entire military made up of elite shock troopers, if we believe stormtrooper training levels I don't think that there would be enough stormtroopers to go around to garrison the galaxy

Re: Imperial Army
There are over 10,000 stormies per SD, and there were 2.5 million SD at the height of the Empire. Now that's not counting reserves, regulars, planet-based troops, and special forces. The numbers do add up and you could garrison the galaxy. But you wouldn't need a contingent on every planet. Not all planets hated the Empire.justifier wrote:Is there Imperial army infantry? 25,000 ISDs was supposedly at the height of the Empire.

That specifically says at the height of their power. How is it that you constantly fuck this up, get corrected, and turn around a week or two later and fuck it up again?Admiral Johnason wrote:But what about Spectre of the Past?

No the quote says that the fleet had 25,000 ISD at one time and the minimal of 1000 sectors each with 24 of them supports that. It had millions of other warships larger and smaller.Prince-Admiral Krennel wrote:
Indeed, there were never that many ISDs. Now there quite possibly could have been that many ships in the Imperial Navy.

Um no, 2.5 million is WAY two fucking low. Dondanna quote dude. Even if each ship can toss out 1E25 watts of firepower, that still gives them a fleet of over 100 trillion ships.Prince-Admiral Krennel wrote:Howedar wrote:25,000 ISDs was supposedly at the height of the Empire.

WEG indicates no less than 2,000 sectors. HoT itself implies perhaps 8,000 sectors. There had to be no less than 48,000+. Given the 25,000 figure is placed with an incorrect number of worlds in the Empire from a historically minimalistic author, I'll take it with a grain of salt. Marina's theory with the Starfleet/Navy dichotomy explains things quite well.

And the Phantom Menace has 1024 sectors based on senate seat count and the TPM Visual Dictionary.Illuminatus Primus wrote:Wrong.Sea Skimmer wrote:No the quote says that the fleet had 25,000 ISD at one time and the minimal of 1000 sectors each with 24 of them supports that. From the Ep.II ICS we learn that one senator can represent many planets.Ender wrote:And the Phantom Menace has 1024 sectors based on senate seat count and the TPM Visual Dictionary.Illuminatus Primus wrote:Wrong.Sea Skimmer wrote: No the quote says that the fleet had 25,000 ISD at one time and the minimal of 1000 sectors each with 24 of them supports that. It's also silly to say that every senator from every represented planet/sector would be at every senate meeting, they could just as easily "sit-in" on senate meetings thanks to holonet from the comfort of their own planets.

How does the ship's fire power help calculate the number of ships in the Imperial Navy? Maybe I missed something but the two numbers would seem to be independent of each other.Ender wrote:Um no, 2.5 million is WAY two fucking low. Dondanna quote dude. The Galactic Republic has neither full-galactic membership (Tatooine was beyond the reach of Republic laws and order) and the Republic is awknowledged to have fewer members than the Empire.Ender wrote:And the Phantom Menace has 1024 sectors based on senate seat count and the TPM Visual Dictionary.
He's right, you are wrong.
Furthermore, the Galactic Senate is not by sectorial representation, unless of course, you think that the Trade Federation is a Republic sector.
I'd like to see you prove:
a) TPM representation was solely sectorial.
b) All the sectors in the TPM senate represented all the sectors of the Imperial era.
EDIT: I also didn't recall any gaps in the AOTC Senate, when all the Seperatist Worlds/Sectors had withdrawn their Senators by that time.

On that note, the Trade Federation was not the only corporative entity to have representation in the Galactic Senate. The Techno Union, Commerce Guild, and Corporate Alliance also had senatorial delegations, according to Cloak of Deception.Illuminatus Primus wrote:Furthermore, the Galactic Senate is not by sectorial representation, unless of course, you think that the Trade Federation is a Republic sector.
