Was Slave 1 mass produced?

Post by Gandalf »

Was the model of ship which Jango Fett named Slave 1 mass produced?, or at least enough made so another bounty hunter can be using one and it remains credble. (It's for a Fanfic.)

Yes, originally it was a Kuat-Yard Firespray class patrol ship.

Thankyou good sir, does anyone know how quickly it could destroy a GCS?

In its stock configuration it might not be able to destroy a GCS. I can't imagine that a planetary patrol vehicle would come standard with seismic charges, although it may have retained its original missile rack.

The stock form proberly doesen't have the rapid fire mid-high laser cannons either.
Think they must have taken up alot of room anyway. As Boba swapped them out in favour of concussion missles and an ion cannon

It probably could not. I would imaging that the only stock weapon on it would be the dual lasers on the tail. It is possible that the missile rack was stock but the mid ship blasters, in all probability, are not.

The dual blasters on the tail were not that impressive when Boba tried to fry Obi with them. It is possible that he turned the power down, but it is more likely that the kid would shoot with what ever the guns were set on.

Seeing as how the blasters did not obliterate the platform, nor did Obi die even though he was right next to the blast, I would say that the dual blasters are not that impressive and the Galaxy class would be reasonably safe from them.

However I don't think a bounty hunter would use an unmodified Firespray class.

Everyone has to start at the bottom, well not everyone but how many rich fucks want to be bountyhunters?

I would imagine lots, the excitement and all. I mean, how many rich people are hunters? Lots. However, lots of those people can't shoot worth a crap and would probably also make pretty lousy bounty hunters.

There isn't that much profit to be made in bounty hunting, at least in the grand scheme of things, and what profit there is is generally reinvested in your equipment, membership fees, etc.

Boba Fett didn't even earn 20 million credits for bringing in the most wanted sentient in the entire Galaxy. Some of that went to paying his guild fees, and even though that's pretty substantial for a regular Joe (in the SW lower to upper-middle classes), it's pretty piddly compared to the fortunes some of the wealthy people bring in. High ranking officials in the big business (ie. KD Yards, Sienar, BlasTech), planetary rulers, governors, etc. have to be raking in the billions of credits at least, and I would imagine that the exceptionally wealthy own literally trillions of credits. Remember that these guys can buy out entire planets, and assume extraordinary powers over large sections of the Galaxy.

Moreover, I imagine that rich people who can buy out planets could find fun things to do with their investments--at least better things to do than bounty hunting. What would you do if you owned the entire world?

1 seismic charge. OR

1 or 2 Torpedo(s) (whatever kind Jango had in AotC). OR

A sustained burst of fire from either the midship batteries, or the tail guns.

Thank's everyone for your help on this, the idea for the fanfic was that a Bounty Hunter is chasing a Jedi, some weird shit happens, and they end up in the ST universe.

I'm not exactly sure, I was thinking during AOTC or the glory days of the Old Republic.

Why would a bounty hunter be hunting a Jedi, then? Jedi enforced the law--just like bounty hunters. They should be on the same side, unless the Jedi's done something wrong (ie. gone completely rogue).

The stock Firespray only has the four exposed blaster cannons.

I know this is lower tier canon. However in the Bounty Hunter game, Jango swipes Slave I from a penal colony on an asteroid. When he leaves, he turns around and fires off a spread of torps into the hanger. Him and Zam say a few words and Jango makes the comment 'Well now she's the last of her kind."

I was thinking something along the lines of:
Jedi shuts down big crime organisation
Angry crime lord puts bounty out
Bounty Hunter chases JediBoth end up in Trek universe, pursue each other against backdrop of DW.

Bounty hunters have no set allegiance. They'll chase anyone with a price on their head.

That conflicts with XWA. In it, there is a Firespray, the Andrasta.

But which of the two games is higher canon? :?

Could have been referring to a specific sub-model of Firespray, because I'm pretty sure that more of them were produced than only a single hangar full.

I mean, this is KDY we're talking about.

Well, technically it was Kuat Systems Engineering, a subcompany of Kuat Drive Yards, but it probably has the same philosophy.
