Yahoohoo!

The box that supposedly contained Jesus' brother James is declared a fake. The box is real, the inscription was faked. The inscription was cut *through* the natural aging of the box.

Naturally, this only proves that the box's inscription was a fake. It has no bearing on the existance or lack thereof of God, the accuracy or lack thereof of the Bible, and so forth.

This IS proof that the proof of Jesus that exists is faked. As with the showd of turin this box is a fake, this was the only primary source document that could have refered to jesus that we have thus found, which means that once again there is a complete lack of primary evidence for his existance. This just shows that there is no evidence that he existed, which means that according to logic we must assume the negative, that he didnt exist until such time as evidence is found.

IF it was a forgery, its not a modern one. The second engraving was placed on the box within a few hundred years of the first.

Besides, why would a Jew manufacture evidence to support Christianity?

Supposedly Constantines Wife / Mother (Cannot remeber which) found lots of holy rellcs. My suspicion woudl be that most of these were created to strengthen the new religion.

Considering he's still an orthodox Jew, I would tend to think not. He's not selling it, so its not for profit. He doesn't need publicity, since he just owns it.

No reason for this guy to have faked it. And he didn't buy it as "James' ossuary", just an ossuary. So no one faked it to scam him.
