He showed up on the Defiant vs Falcon board. I dont share the same view on O'Farrel as my fellow poster HooliganJedi. Whileas I know he can't come up with anything substantial, I would not agree that he is the new darkstar. At least O'Farrell keeps his trap shut.

What is with you people here? If someone irritates you, you start making polls and bitching about them. Why not simply ignore people who bother us, such as DarkStar? Ignore their posts. Let them claim victory by virtue of their "points" not being "addressed". The only ones who would side with that view are idiots anyway, so why even try to get their support?

Only an idiot argues with an idiot. Only an idiot would care what another idiot thinks or says. In other words ignore them to prove you are beyond their feeble views...if they delibrately make a pest out of themselves and harass other members, get a moderator to ban their ass. Whining about someone else's stupidity or pointing it out is a waste of time and posts.

This is my point. I've seen a quite a few people here complaining about other's stupidity, yet they create posts and debates specifically designed to get their attention. If you think their arguements and intelligence are highly questionable, do not create situations where you give them more attention. That's what most, if not all, the idiots want. Ignoring them is the best way to deal with them. If they flame you without apparent cause, that is what moderators are for. Persoanlly, even if an idiot flamed me, I'd be completely unconcerned. This is a "web" enviroment, it is completely trivial in comparison to real life, therefore some no-name dickhead calling you a jerk or worse is of no concern. If others take his or her flames seriously, and they don't know you, the idiot "filter" is simply working.

The whole reason there have been poles about User099, Darkstar etc etc is because they are simply trolls that do nothing more than pollute the boards, and cause general disruption to discussions. While it seems Hooligan probably has a grudge against O'Farrell it's likely he's just fucking around as well. However, to the point, the number one reason Wong started the poll to get rid of Darkstar, was because the thread about his site updated turnend into a thread where every other post was Darkstar spewing bullshit everywhere. I, like many here, have posted on other webgroups and there's nothing more irritating than such a thing. While others might criticise, and toss sticks and stones at us from afar (not you numb nuts, you at least had the desency to post here) but at least these boards won't become muddled with stupidity.

Then a system should be implemented that allows such users to be quickly dealt with. Wong made a good example, in other words, see if certain users are worth keeping around. Vote whether or not to dsmiss them permanently. It's the bitching polls and posts that irritate me.

And this is the system that should be used. Get votes to determine whether or not someone is irritating a significant percentage of the board, then ban them if it is so. Don't post bullshit polls and posts that do nothing other then start whining and complaining. Either do something about it, as in voting "this person doesn't contribute useful materail", or ignore them and quit bitching about them, which just gives them more attention which in all likelyhood is what their after anyway.
