Analyze the Acclamator and the ISD!
Found this scan of AOTC ICS:
Acclamator
Shall we analyze it?
My comments:
It steals the Gallowfree Yards Command Pod...
The hull seems to be about one deck thick, indicating a strong
hull for dealing with unprotected unshielded atmospheric entry, or
into a war zone for example.
Most of the equipment is stored on a giant rack conveyor system
like the kind you'd find at your drycleaners. Large parts of the lower
decks are completely open and seem to be devoted entirely to
vehicle storage.
ISD from ICS - Warning 500KB!
Fixed spelling of of Acclamator- Vym

Well..uh...they're both wedge-shaped...
"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."
ISD's inside space is almost completely packed with hangar, reactor+engines, and wherever it is they hold the ground forces.
And over a 100,000 people are on that ship, supposedly.
EDIT
In comparison, the GTVA Colossus from Freespace 2 is 6 kilometers long and only has a crew of 30,000. Course, one must take into account that its armor is more than 100 or 200 meters thick, judging from a cutscene.

What's her bust size!?
It's over NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAAAND!!!!!!!!!

The Acclamator command pod is actually considerably different from the Gallofree design.

I agree.Howedar wrote:The Acclamator command pod is actually considerably different from the Gallofree design.
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

IIRC, the TIE Boarding Craft just uses the same basic frame of the TIE Bomber, but designed for a different role.Crazy Goji wrote:I was looking at the hangar they drew, and they showed a TIE Boarding Craft. This is something a bit new to me. At first i thought it was a Bomber, and I thought I read Bomber at first, but it clearly says boarding craft. Does anyone have any info on it?
Another example is the TIE Shuttle in ESB, which also shares the same spaceframe as the TIE Bomber...

The ships listed carrying capacity of armored vehicles and men seems too low to me.

Ok, feel free to bitch slap me with a cricket bat for this (yes u can slep with a cricket bat as long as u use the flat side....) because I haven't read up on the Acclamators, but weren't they designed as drop ships? Hence the support struts. As opposed to space warfare like the ISD?

Both ships appear to devote ~60% of their total power to their engines. The Acclamator sensds ~35% to it's shields and ~10% to it's weapons.
An ISD sends ~25% if we assume the Imperial Sourcebook quote applies to them (and even it it doesn't their shields should be somewhere in the range of 15-35 %). If we assume that Acclamator HTLs are of the same power as the HTLs on an ISD2 that means that the ISD sens ~.8% of it's power which makes zero fucking sense. However there is still a cap on that. The Acclamator is given a range limitation, I read that as how far they can go before some food or other crew needed supply cna last instead of how oftern they need to reload hypermatter as the hypermatter tanks on an ISD are limited in size due to their placement. I am unclear as to the thruster mechanics of each ships (I know loosley how it works on fighters, but cap ships are a mystery, perhaps gravatic some long range and focused but tiny repulsor type?).
Acclamator has huge launchers inline with the size needed for planetary assault, perhaps designed to knock out small shielding emplacements ala hoth or the smaller gungan type.
In both the reactor is clearly the dominating feature that the ship is designed around. in an ISD it is supplamented by 2 additional hypermatter reactors which seem dedicated to the engines and possibly the HTLs. Both also have smaller fusion reactors that power numerous subsystems and provide containment for the hypermatter reactors.
I could go into more, but I'm a bit busy now (got a new car)
Shep, can you provide a good scan of the TF coreship for me please? And the TF DCS if you have TPM ICS lying around. Thanks.

As for the Acclamator, Saxton probably wanted to be conservative.

Man, it would be hellacool to see a movie with a view from the ISD hangar bay like where the TIE BC is. Imagine seeing a Naboo or Republic diplomatic vessel in an Imperial hangar bay with stars or a planet moving below it visible on the periphery. Behind the captive starship inside the hangar bay are smaller bays visible behind it chock full of other cool starships and all sorts of personnel are moving about everywhere. That would be AWESOME.

Captain Needa, durring ESB, took a TIE looking craft that he refered to as a shuttle, to the Executor to apologise to Lord Vader. The TIE bording ship was based on this dialouge IIRC.Crazy Goji wrote:I was looking at the hangar they drew, and they showed a TIE Boarding Craft. This is something a bit new to me. They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong
But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Not necessarily. The Medium Transport could very well predate the Acclamator.MKSheppard wrote:Well, at least we know where GFY got the idea from...Robert Treder wrote:I agree.Howedar wrote:The Acclamator command pod is actually considerably different from the Gallofree design.

Probably over engineered for its purpose. The GR did not have significant military forces at the time of the Acclamator's design. The command pod is probably a standard part for KDY at the time. We see a more or less standard looking con tower on future ships of the empire so it is probably the early version of the conning tower.Shall we analyze it?

You might take into account that these ships were being produced in large numbers in secret. The elements that make up the Sepratist worlds were probably watching any large industrialized planets that were not joining them. Producing vast quantities of specially made materials would have aroused the Sepratists' suspicions. KDY might have over produced some materials and siphoned them off for the construction of the Acclamator.
