Updated it with distressed textures and suchlike, but still need to add decals, a couple more textures on some bits and it'll be done and ready to stick on my website. Looks quite rugged right enough, I'd imagine it is a bitlike the Herc in Freespace in that it's pretty fast and packs a punch, but maybe not as manouverable as the X-Wing or TIE Fighter.

You don't have to...that request was only in jestKenny_10_Bellys wrote:And they would be.... what?
But Rogue Squadron's colors...well, look at Luke's X-Wing in SW for an example.

I assumed that was RED Squadron. I thought maybe you had some expanded universe colour scheme in mind, something from an obscure comic I'd never seen before. I'll go for some SW style red and yellow markings on it then. Where the hell is Rob Wilson, not seen him posting on the board for a little while now, i thought he'd have been all over his baby with suggestions and requests?

Rob's probably busy...either that or his connection died again. Anyway, it WAS Red Squadron, but it turned into Rogue Squadron after the movie.Kenny_10_Bellys wrote:I assumed that was RED Squadron. EDIT: The Space Camaro that Ein recolored for me was in Rogue Squadron colors.

BTW That's Red Leader. Red 2 would have two stripes behind the red paint on the wings, and Red 5 has, well, five.

OK, I can understand that. I have NO idea how I'll fit something like that onto a barrel shaped wing but I'll see what I can do.

I made that over a month ago. No one looks at the 'Fun With MSPaint' thread anymore...

Indeed they dont! Of course you realise that now the O-Wing is out of the way I'll have to finish the damn Camaro now. For a laugh last night I redid it in the colours you posted, but to be a bastard I never posted a pic of it.

That would be because it is an Attack craft and not a bomber.Howedar wrote:Seems almost more of an attack craft than a bomber.
Kick-ass work!
And yes Kenny does indeed do Kick-ass work.

No, it's O-wing as in the profile of the wing frm the front is the letter O. Hence 'O' wing.Howedar wrote:Wait, perhaps its not "Oh"-Wing, but "Zero"-Wing? That would solve everything...

Kenny none of the pictures you posted originally in this thread show up any more, could you repost them pretty please.Kenny_10_Bellys wrote:Updated it with distressed textures and suchlike, but still need to add decals, a couple more textures on some bits and it'll be done and ready to stick on my website. On the maneouverability side. In atmosphere the ring of repulsor lifts and the angled exhausts actually make it very quick and nimble in turns (exspecially at the lower speeds - mach1 and lower) able to pivot in flight so as to turn inside of another fighter and shoot it. In space the Angled exhausts and closeness of the engines mean it has a very fast turn for less energy than would be so for say a Starfury for instance (though the Fury also fires fro the front to make a faster turn).
Again it's small size and compact frame, coupled with it's better turning cirlce makes it more survivable in combat - good thing too as it's shields aren't the best out there.
I'll write up a proper page for the FUQ with the specifics in it.

In the mean time you'll just have to make do with this, it's the History of the O-wing and Varients I wrote for the original Thread but put on it's own page with a couple of Kenny's pictures.Rob Wilson wrote:I'll write up a proper page for the FUQ with the specifics in it.

It's not a Geocities or the like account so there should be no problems for you to see the images in the page (though there's only 2 right now).

Sorry, don't have the images lying around any more, and anyway I'm busy trying to get the animation of it blowing up a fighter or two to work. Looks like that little virus I contracted a few days ago did some damage to Lightwave before I cleansed it, I am having real difficulty with my modeler and with Lightwaves particle systems. Time to do a backup of the data and reinstall Lightwave from the original CD I think, maybe even completely wipe my drive and do a rebuild from the ground up.
Would it be too offensive to have this thing blitzing TIE fighters around a Stardestroyer, I have nice models of those and have no idea what other pre-empire ships might look like?

Cheers Kenny. What do you think of the page so far (even if it is just the placeholder Beta)?

Nothing much, just cleaned up my god awful code on the page from having slapped it together and through trial and error I've learnt how to get the Links to open in new windows, so you may look upon Kenny's work without having to use the back button to keep reading afterwards.
It's ace being self-taught.
